Halloween 2009

Here are a few pictures from our night:

Our sweet little puppy getting ready to go to our neighborhood party.

We didn't have far to go since it was right outside our house!

Trying to get a picture while the ears were still on. Surprisingly, he did not mind having them on. I think he liked all the attention he got by wearing them! :)

Mimi came to see Connor all dressed up! She even chased him around for part of the night so we could visit with friends. I say "chase" because that boy never sits still! :)
Walked across the stage for the costume contest. Connor seemed to enjoy being center stage!

Hanging out with his best bud Emily. They were having a stare down right here. I think they were probably trying to figure out why we had them all dressed up. Isn't she the cutest pumpkin?

Pushing Emily around in his car.

Some other fun things we got to do that I failed to take pictures of...

-Skype with cousin Kate to see her in her adorable ladybug costume!
-Answer the door for several kids Trick or Treating
-Made our 1 Trick-or-Treat stop at the Robert's house and stayed to hang out with some friends.

Great night with lots of fun memories! Hope everyone had a happy Halloween!

Lollipops!

Friday was such a gorgeous day that my mom and I decided to take a trip to a local pumpkin patch to see what they had left. We decided to try making our own "pumpkin patch" in the backyard to see if we could get some better shots of Connor. He definitely had less distractions, but still was not interested in sitting still. Then we broke out the lollipops.... All we heard from little man after that was "Mmmm Mmmmm!" We got a few really cute pictures so in the end it was worth the effort to try again! Can you tell I love fall? :)

Child Proofing Round 2

As soon as Connor became mobile we went out and bought all the necessary things to childproof our home. Gates, outlet covers, corner guards, stove knob covers, cabinet locks... everything we thought we needed.
We are entering a new phase once again now that Connor can open doors. It is amazing the things he can get into with this new freedom of going in which ever room he wants. So far he has started the washer/dryer, rearranged my nightstands in the guest room, helped himself to a snack in the pantry, and gotten very close to playing with the water in the toilet (gross!). I have been putting off having to use the knob covers because they are so hard to use, but I think we will be making a trip to Target very soon. So all this to say... next time you are at our house and see white covers on all the door knobs you will know why it takes you 5 minutes to open the door to our bathroom. :)

Baylor Homecoming

What a treat it was to be back at Baylor this weekend for homecoming! Even though we had to get up so early to make it on time for the parade it was worth it to be able to share those special memories I have with my boys. We got there a little later than planned, but luckily our friends saved us a spot so Connor had a front row view of the parade.
Not only was I excited about being back on campus, but I also got to catch up with one with one of my best friends, Callie, and her husband Troy. We always have so much fun together!

Callie, Connor, and I
We had a great lunch at Ninfa's and even got to do some shopping at Spice.

(Notice Connor is more concerned about the "future Baylor cheerleader" in the back than looking at the camera."

Before we left Waco, we made one last stop at Cameron Park Zoo. I was always so impressed with what a nice zoo Waco has and was thrilled to get to take Connor. All 3 of us really had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing all of the animals. Here are a few highlights from our trip...

Connor trying to figure out how the monkeys are hanging from the trees!
Cole and Connor on his 1st trip to the zoo. Can you tell who is ready for a nap?
Checking out the lion.
My favorite animal at the zoo.
Connor's favorite animal that day. He would giggle every time the elephant would flap his ears.
Cole's favorite.... As soon as we walked in to the zoo we heard this squealing and thought it was a kid, but soon found out that it was a monkey!! We have never heard anything like it! And all this time I have been telling Connor that the monkey says "e e e"!

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Saturday was the perfect day for a trip to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls. We headed out early so we could stop and grab some lunch at Bluebonnet Cafe. It was delicious as always! Once we arrived at the farm we realized we weren't the only ones who thought it was a good day for the pumpkin patch! There were hundreds of people everywhere!
We decided to bring the wagon in hopes of snapping a few pictures without having a moving target.
He loved standing on the hay bales to look through these! He was too distracted by all the people to look at the camera though.
We managed to get a picture next to the scarecrow before he was off again!
Oh, how I would love to know what he is thinking in this picture! :)
They had so many great sets to take pictures in front of and one of my favorites was this old pick up truck filled with pumpkins.
Connor was not as enthusiastic about it as I was!
It was a great day at the pumpkin patch. We will definitely be going back next year!

I Love These Two...

Are they cute or what? :) (They didn't even plan to match!)
"See you later, Momma!"
My boys and I out celebrating my birthday. Thanks to all of my family and friends that made it such a special day. I am very blessed to have all of you in my life.

Texas State Fair

Last week we headed up to Dallas to go to the State Fair of Texas. It had been years since I had been so it was nice to go back and take Connor with us.

My mom, Connor, and I with Big Tex

It was only suppose to be in the 80s that day, but it was SO hot!

I was so excited to show him all of the animals. He was a little timid at first, but quickly warmed up and had fun. I think he was also a little overwhelmed by the huge crowd.
Here are a few of the animals we saw.

Our last stop was at the Midway so Connor could take a ride on the carousel.

Since it was his first time to ride a carousel I thought I would put him on one of the outside horses that didn't move, but as soon as he saw the other kids moving up and down he quickly pointed to the horse he wanted to be on. So he spent the rest of the time enjoying his ride on the moving horse!

What a fun trip to the fair!

Happy 16 Months Connor!

I am 16 months old! This month the biggest change is how much Connor is talking. It seems like overnight he became a toddler and started trying to repeat everything we say. He also goes around the house pointing and telling me what things are. For example, this morning at breakfast he repeatedly announced that we had a "tt ble"(table), "chair", and "spoon." :) Connor is exploring this whole new world of talking and LOVING it! I decided some videos would give you a better idea of what he is doing. Enjoy!
ABC's
He has always loved singing the ABC's and has started chiming in with different letters. He usually will say A,B,C...G...P....T....Z. This past week he also has added J, O, Q, and R. I will try and get a better video later.
Counting
He has 2, 3, 4, 8, and 10 down while we are still working on the rest.
Communicating
Being able to talk more has also allowed him to express what he wants in lots of ways. (Part of the reason why The New Dare to Discipline by James Dobson has become my nightly read.) :) My favorite new thing he says is "Pllleeeaassseee" He has been doing the sign for a long time, but recently started saying the full word.
Connor is one... or two?
I had been asking him how old he was and he first said "unn" while holding up his 1 finger. Then I asked him again so I could video him and he had a new answer for me. He either forgot when his birthday was or we have a little comedian on our hands. :)
