Happy 17 Months, Carson

Here is what Mr. Carson has been up to:

Becoming so independent.  Wants to do EVERYTHING by himself, especially when he eats.

Loves to read.  Every time he goes in his room and sees his book basket he starts saying "book.. book.."  His is loyal to his favorite book and reads it at least once or twice a day.

 At our house it is hard to get a word in with big brother around, but Carson has learned to just get really loud when he wants to say something. :)  Although, he does have the cutest facial expressions that let us know exactly what he is thinking.  He can be so serious one minute...

 ... and be completely silly the next.  He loves to tease and make people laugh.

Carson loves to dance anytime he hears music.  Hopefully I can catch it on video soon.

He has dropped his morning nap so now takes one good nap a day.  Still sleeping great a night.

Has a rough month with pneumonia and ear infections, but we are hoping we are at the end of it all.

Learning different animal sounds with his favorite being the lion. "Raaa!"

Loves to play with trains and cars, but also loves snuggling with a stuffed animal.  He also loves playing in his kitchen.

We love every new stage and are so thankful for this healthy sweet boy!

Rodeo Roundup

C & C made their first visit to the fairgrounds in Austin this week.  We spent most of our time at Kidstown which was perfect for both of them.

 Their favorite area was "Farmer for a Day" where you were able to collect the eggs, potatoes, apples, and even milk a (pretend) cow!  They LOVED it and would have been happy spending the rest of the day there. 

 Carson had a hard time reaching the coop, but thankfully there were plenty on the ground for him to collect.

 Connor feed the animals at the petting zoo.  His favorite were the baby animals.

 On our way out we stopped at these huge tractors.

 Connor thought these were pretty cool!

 Before we left we watched part of a Wild West Show and played one of the games.

Thankfully, we picked the game were everyone is a winner so it only took one try to win this fancy bubble wand.  You may not be able to tell by his face, but Connor was pretty excited about his prize. :)

Family Fun

March started off great with a visit from my grandparents, Momma Lou and Ed.  We always have a wonderful time hanging out and visiting.  It was especially fun to have them there for Connor's first soccer game.  We loved every minute, especially the boys!  Thank you for coming to see us.  We can't wait to see you again soon!

First Soccer Game

Saturday was Connor's very first soccer game.  It was also his first experience of any type of official game as a team.  I can't even begin to describe the cuteness of a bunch of 3 year olds running around on the field playing soccer. It's the only age that you will probably hear things like "Run the other way!" 

 Connor was so excited to wear his uniform.

 From the first practice, he immediately loved his coaches and is constantly trying to hold their hand, give them high fives and hugs, and has a LOT to tell them.  Connor LOVES to talk and at one point stopped during the game to have a conversation with the opponents coaches.  He knows no strangers!  I also heard him several times telling his teammates "You can do this!"   

 One of my favorite parts was when he would be run straight ahead, but looking over at the side lines with the biggest grin.  He enjoyed all the attention.

 Coach Jeremy is just reminding them which way they are suppose to kick the ball.

 This was Connor's turn to "kick off."  I love how 2 of the players from the other team are just standing there waiting for him to get closer.

 Connor's coach told them they had to stop the ball from getting in their net so he decided on his own to be the goalie.  We also had one of those moments that I have to share so I wont forget.  The coach kept reinforcing that on defense they are "stoppers."  Connor has not had much experience with soccer, but watches a lot of football with his daddy.  So when he was told to be the "stopper" instead of heading toward the ball he ran towards the kid standing perfectly still and knocked him to the ground.  Future linebacker?You could tell he was trying to do it as gently as he could, but we had a long talk after about only using our feet in soccer. :)  

I loved that Connor's fans outnumbered the actual number of kids on his team.  He had lots of people who love him there to support him.  

 We were so proud of him!

 I love that the overall focus was on just having fun rather than how many goals were made.

 It is also fun to see sweet friendships forming along the way.

It was a great day!
