Johnson City Christmas Lights 2012

The weekend after Thanksgiving we all made a trip down to Johnson City to see the lights.  This is something we do every year, but it was extra special this year since the Mitchell girls were able to join us.  Connor and Kate had SO much fun together.
All the kids loved running and playing under the amazing lights that covered all the trees.
After watching a new Disney show, Connor is really into being a "prince" and "dancing the waltz" so he told Kate she was his princess and they needed to dance. So cute!
Carson and Hannah joined in on the fun!
 Big hugs for Poppa!
 Mimi and her boys
Nana and her 3 youngest grands.
Posing with Nana while checking out Santa nearby.
My boys are very blessed to have so many special grandparents.
 How cute are these two?
 Cousins are so much fun!
After we checked out the trees we headed over to the town square where they head some more decorations.
It was a fun night for all of us!

Thanksgiving

For weeks now Connor has been talking about Thanksgiving.  He has been so excited and would check the calendar daily to see if it was the 22nd.  At school they learned a lot about the first Thanksgiving.  I picked him up one day from school and found him dressed up as a Native American.  He named himself "Chasing Cat."
The much anticipated Thanksgiving Day finally arrived and we celebrated with turkey pancakes.
We meet up with Cole's family later that morning for the Turkey Trot.
My sweet little turkeys getting ready for our big Thanksgiving dinner.
It was a fun evening with lots of family and great food.

3 Amigos

The Morris Family came to stay with us this past week and we had the best time!  It was our annual girls weekend at the Christmas Affair, but I think all the boys had just as much fun as we did.  These 3 were so cute together.  It wont be long until George is out running around with them too. :)
Carson quickly made William his best friend.
On Saturday, John and Cole headed to College Station for the game while we had a full day of fun.  We started out at the hike and bike trail for a morning walk.
We packed a picnic lunch and headed over to the Science and Nature Center.
The boys had the best time checking out the animals and digging for dinosaur bones.
A little bit of ice cream was the perfect way to end our day.

Mimi's Birthday

This past week we celebrated Mimi's birthday.  We wanted her day to be just as special as she is to all of us!  For dinner we had Chuy's fajitas and red velvet cupcakes.  The boys were happy to help blow out the candles. :)  They also didn't mind helping open the gifts either.  Happy Birthday, Mimi!  We love you!

Goodbye Soccer

Connor's second season of soccer has come to an end.  He had a great time playing this year and it was amazing to see all the improvements from where he started.  Connor always loved going to practice and games, but sometimes I think it he enjoyed being with friends more than actually playing.  It seemed like he never really got in to it until this last game when we all discovered something  new about this sweet boy.  He loves defense!  He may not have been a high scorer during the games, but you put him on defense and he thrived!  On his own he decided he wanted to be the goalie and blocked almost every kick from the other team.  (Too bad his age group isn't suppose to have a goalie or we could of been rocking it all year!) :)
He told me that he was done with soccer and ready to move on to golf or t-ball.  I told him it may be a little hard to find a 4 year old golf team, but I think t-ball is a definite possibility.
After the game we had an end of season party complete with cookie cake and trophies.  I'm pretty sure Connor would do anything that involved a trophy.
It was an extra special season having Cole as the assistant coach.  Connor is one lucky little boy!
For now we are going to enjoy our Saturdays off and maybe next year give another sport a try.

Celebrations

We had a great weekend celebrating two very special people.  Natalie's baby dedication and Amy's birthday were the perfect reasons to make a trip to Longview.  We all had a great time and the boys were so happy to see their cousins.  Can't wait to see you all again at Thanksgiving!

Baylor Homecoming 2012

One of my favorite times during the fall is going back to Baylor for Homecoming.  This was our third year to make it back as a family (2009  2011 ).  Connor wanted to do a little exploring before the parade started so I also managed to sneak in a few pictures around campus.
He loved all the green and gold swings!
Finally the parade made its way back to campus.  The boys were ready to catch some candy!
This Bear balloon was Carson's favorite by far.  He tried so hard to reach up a grab it!
Unfortunately a float broke down which left us all  standing around for quite some time.  I let the boys walk in the street to see if they could see what was happening.  Carson thought he was BIG stuff!
These two quickly lost interest in waiting for the parade to return so we headed inside for Dr. Pepper hour.  Ice cream floats were the perfect treat.
It was also great to catch up with my sweet friend, Callie, and her family.  Six years and several kids later it is still so much fun seeing her.
We attempted to get a picture of our kids together.  This was the best I got as these two watch Carson run away. :)
Thankfully for another fun morning with my boys sharing a little part of Baylor with them.
