Carson at 36 Weeks

Today we went in for our 36 week appointment and ultrasound.  Carson had a little surprise for us when we found that he had somehow managed to flip in the past two weeks and is now breech.  It is not very common for babies to turn this late so everyone was a little surprised.  For now I have a C-section scheduled for October 18th, but if for some reason he decides to turn the right way then we will change it to an induction for the same day.  Cole and I are both ok with whatever happens.  We are just praying for a healthy and safe delivery and know God has a perfect plan for us.

Here are a few of the pictures from our ultrasound.  I love this first one.  As soon as Cole and I saw it we both immediately thought it looked like Connor.  Such a sweet little face!
Here is a profile of his face looking up.
The doctor said everything looked great so now we are just counting down the days.  Less than 3 weeks and he will be here!

Picnic at the Park

It finally is starting to feel like fall!  Yesterday we took advantage of the gorgeous day and headed out for a picnic at Zilker Park.  We grabbed some lunch and found the perfect spot to sit and eat.
Connor's favorite part of lunch was his sugar cookie!
He couldn't wait to get over to the playground.  He loved watching the older kids run around.
Before we left we stopped by the Zilker Zypher for a ride on the train.  Connor was very serious about the train ride, but absolutely LOVED it!  Here he is taking it all in. :)
Waiting to give his ticket to the train conductor.
"Choo Choo!"
Loving on his Momma
and his Mimi!
It was the perfect way to spend our first "cool" day of fall!

Church Baby Shower

On Sunday morning, our Growth Group threw us a diaper shower for Carson.  We are blessed to be apart of such a sweet group of people!  We enjoyed some delicious cake, fruit, and punch that was displayed with all of the adorable airplane decorations.  We are so thankful for and appreciate all of the sweet gifts we received.  Carson is already one loved little boy!

Football and Friends

We had a great weekend filled with a football game and hanging out with some of our favorite friends.  On Friday night we headed out to Dripping Springs to watch the Tigers play Lake Travis.  They didn't win that night, but we still had lots of fun.  Connor loves going to see Nana and Poppa and watching the game.  I think he would have liked to run down on the field with the players.  At one point in the game he was holding his hands up in the air saying "I catch it!  I catch it!"
Everything is a routine with Connor... last time I took pictures so of course I had to take pictures again.  :)  A few minutes after we had sat down Connor told me "Take my picture Momma.  Cheese!"
On Saturday, the Armstrong family drove down from Temple to spend the day with us.  We had so much fun visiting and getting to see how much Miss Jenna had grown up.  She is just as cute as can be!  These two both loved playing ball.
Sally and Lee brought these precious cookies for us.  They were SO good!  I absolutely loved all the trains and airplanes.  Connor thought it was pretty cool to eat a train cookie with his name on it.  :)
Connor opted out on a nap that day so his bed time could not come soon enough.  While we enjoyed some Rudy's BBQ, he quickly fell asleep on the sofa and was out for the night.  Thank you so much Armstrongs for making the trip down.  We had so much fun hanging out with you and can't wait to get together again soon!

What we have been up to...

I have been behind on blogging so here are a few highlights from our busy week:
  • Carson-  I had a doctors appointment this past Tuesday (34 weeks) and everything looked great.  My doctor seemed to think that he would not be as big as we had originally thought, but I guess we will found out in a few weeks.  He also decided that if Carson was not here by 39 weeks that I would probably be induced which would be around the week of October 18th.
  • Connor- While I was at the doctor, mom took Connor to "gym" (his Gymboree class) and then we meet at the mall once we both were done.  After lunch we heard a "choo choo" coming from downstairs and found this train riding around the middle of the mall.  Connor of course thought this was so cool so we headed down to get a ticket and he got to have his first train ride in the mall.

  • MOPS- I joined a new MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group this year.  I meet up with my small group on Wednesday night for dessert and coffee and then we had our first meeting on Friday morning.  I can already tell that I am going to really enjoy being a part of this group.  One huge blessing is that Connor absolutely LOVED his class.  We meet at a church he has not been to so I wasn't sure how he would do.  As soon as I dropped him off he ran to the table and was thrilled to see that the teachers had play dough out.  Then when I picked him up he ran to the door which I thought meant he was ready to leave, but instead he grabbed my hand and took me back to his table to show me that he was getting to draw with chalk on black paper.  He was talking about a mile a minute and then proceeded to show me all around his room pointing to all the fun toys.  I had never seen him so excited!  Once I gathered up all the fun things he made I had to bribe him to leave.  I think he would have stayed there all day!
  • Amy and Kate- We were able to meet up a few times for dinner with Amy and Kate who were in town visiting. Kate is growing up more and more every time we see her.  She is just as cute as can be!
  • Car Seats- Connor got 2 new car seats this week (one for each of our cars) since he had passed up the weight limit on his previous one.  I had them in the living room to adjust the harness and he thought they were a perfect place to play with his i Touch!
  • Hospital Tour- On Saturday we headed up to where I will be delivering Carson.  Since it is a different locations than where I had Connor we decided to take a tour to get familiar with everything.  I wanted Connor to come with us so when he came to see Carson it wouldn't be the first time he had been there.  My mom came with us in case Connor needed a break (which he did) so Cole and I could continue on with the tour.  If I had know that it was going to take an hour and 20 minutes I would have let him stay home!  It was not the most exciting way to spend our Saturday morning, but I am glad we were able to get a glimpse of where we will be in a few weeks.

A Weekend with the Morris Family

This past weekend had been down of the calendar for months.  My cousin, Kaci, and I use any excuse we can thing of to get together and sending our husbands to an A&M football game was the perfect answer.  We were even more excited that William would be joining them on this trip.  He is 3 months old and absolutely adorable!

Kaci and William drove in on Thursday and we headed over to my mom's later that night for some delicious Rudy's BBQ.
Connor thought it was pretty fun to have "Baby Wee-um" around.  I loved getting a sneak peak of what life would be like with 2 little boys around the house.
Such a handsome little boy!
Friday morning we got the boys ready and headed out for some shopping.  Our first stop was Cabela's.  Connor loves going to see the animals and fish.  I have a feeling that these boys will be going back here a lot when they get a little older.
Our next stop was San Marcos for a quick stop at Target to see Mimi and then shopping at the outlet mall.  I was AMAZED at how well both of the boys did all day.  They were just content riding around in their strollers for several hours (even past nap time)!
John came to town on Friday night and the boys headed out Saturday morning for College Station.  Having both graduated from A&M these two instantly connected over their love for the Aggies.
While Cole and John enjoyed their day back in the "promise land" as they like to call it, Kaci and I hit up the Domain for a little more shopping.

We had such a fun time hanging out and look forward to many more adventures with all our boys!

Celebrating Nana's Birthday

On Tuesday night we had a great time getting together with Nana and Poppa to celebrate Nana's birthday.  Our night was complete with dinner, cake, and ice cream.  Connor loved getting to sing "Happy Birthday" and help Nana blow out her candles.

We love you Nana and are so thankful for the blessing that you are to all of us!

Shower In A Box

What a sweet surprise Carson and I received in the mail last week.  My cousin, Kaci, was the organizer who called all of my family and let them know that she would be mailing a box of gifts for Carson if they would like to add something to it.  When I opened it I found this note:
"Dearest Kristin, Surprise!  Welcome to your 'Shower in a Box!'  Your family has secretly conspired together and sent gifts from all over the country to honor the upcoming arrival of your sweet baby boy, Carson Michael.  So sit back, have a piece of cake, and enjoy this showering of gifts and love!  We love you and can hardly wait to meet your little bundle!"
I was totally surprised and could not believe my eyes when I opened the package and found this...
This was one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me.  I was overwhelmed with how much love my sweet family had shown. (Did you notice there was even a cake with plates and napkins in there?) :)
Connor woke up from his nap just in time for the arrival of the package and even found a surprise for him inside.
My mom took pictures while I opened all the gifts.  I have to say that this was the most relaxing shower I have ever had! :)
All of Carson's new things laid out in his crib.
Connor wanted to put his new trains and books on the crib too!
Cole got home just in time to see all the gifts.  We then ate a quick dinner and enjoyed a delicious piece of Vanilla Chocolate Chip Pound Cake to finish off such a fun shower.
Thank you to all of my wonderful family who made us feel so special and loved.  You are such a blessing to us and Carson is lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love him already!  We love you!

32 Week Update

I had a doctors appointment and ultrasound on Tuesday to check on the progress of Carson.  He was still measuring about 3 weeks and 3 days ahead and is estimated to weigh about 5 lbs 9oz already!  Along with that I am still measuring ahead.  Everything else looked great!  It was fun to see him on the ultrasound.  Cole and I were amazed at all you are able to see.  He was opening and closing his eyes and moving them all around.  Carson also kept sticking his tongue out! :)  I go back in 2 weeks for an appointment with my doctor and he said around 36 weeks we will start making a plan for Carson's arrival.  Can't wait to meet this sweet boy!
