Memorial Day Weekend

Part 1: 1st Trip to Midland

Friday night we left as soon as Cole got off work to spend the weekend in Midland with my cousin Kaci and her husband John.  We had been wanting to go see them for awhile and were glad it finally worked out.  Kaci had thought of everything and we felt like we were staying at a resort!  Connor loved getting to see his "Auntie Kaci" and of course was spoiled the whole weekend with fun surprises!  He especially loves his new lawn chair and bubble wand!

We went to lots of fun restaurants and had some yummy home cooked meals too!  I will have to post the recipe for the fruit crostatas Kaci made later.  It was too good not to share!

On Saturday they took us to the duck pond which Connor loved.  He started "chasing" the ducks all around and quacking at them.  It was too cute!

We also went to the Bush's former home when they lived in Midland for a little history.  Connor wanted to check out all the toys in George W.'s playroom.

Saturday night we went to a drive in movie and saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.  Cole and I loved the drive in and are going to have to find one close to us.  It was so much fun! (and yes we had to use blankets in May!)  Here we are waiting for the movie to start... you can see Connor's Mickey Mouse playing in the background.  He sat in the back most of the time with Kaci and I and loved it!

Kaci kept this little boy entertained all weekend!  He loved helping her in the kitchen while she made dinner.

He also had his first popsicle this weekend.  Kaci froze some of his apple juice to make one and he loved it!

Thank you Kaci and John for such a fun weekend!  We can't wait to see you again soon!

Part 2: Day at the Pool

Cole had Monday off from work so we took advantage of the beautiful day and headed to the pool.

Can you believe how much he has changed in 9 months?

Connor loved the water more than I thought he would.  I actually am now on the search for some sort of baby life jacket because he wants to be free in the water!  He wasn't to crazy about being held or sitting in his float.

I thought this expression on his face was too funny of him trying to figure out how he was going to get over to the fountain!

We didn't think he would like it, but after he wiped the water out of his face he would point at the fountain to go again.

He was way too busy to pose for any pictures.

Even though the water was kinda cold, Connor would lunge himself in it.  He wanted to get his whole body in it.

Walking all over the baby pool

Having so much fun!

Going Private

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that I will be making the blog private this week.  I think I have already heard from almost everyone and will be sending out the invitation soon.  We had been thinking about doing this for awhile and after getting comments in languages we didn't understand we thought it was best to go ahead and make the switch. :)  Please know that you are all welcome!  (Just be sure to let me know by leaving a comment or sending me an email.)

We just got back from a visit to Midland to see Kaci and John.  We had such a fun time!  I will post some more pictures from our trip later, but for now here is a picture of Connor sitting on the porch of a former president's childhood home.  Can you guess which one?

All The Latest

Here are a few pictures and videos from the past weeks to show you what we have been up to.

Connor is getting lots of new teeth!  Right now I can see 6 on the top and 2 on the bottom, but I have a feeling there are more about to break through.
Connor loves anything with wheels!  His new favorite thing to do is push his train along the bottom shelf of the bookcase.  I think he could do this for hours!  I watch him do this at least twice a day.
He also LOVES his new ball pit.  I posted a video to show you the fun.  (You just have to ignore my laughing in the background!) :)

At last, but not least here are a few videos of Connor's latest dance moves.  Right now ABC and Old McDonald are his favorite songs to dance to.  Anytime he hears them playing he starts shaking his head.  Well, the past week he has learned a new dance move that he does in the second video.  I caught the very end of it.  Cole and I could not stop laughing when we saw this!  Enjoy!

One more thing... I think I am going to make the blog private.  If you still want to read it leave a comment or send me an email and I will make sure you get an invitation.

Connor's Baby Pool

The summer heat has already made its way to Texas and this weekend it was time to break out the baby pool. We all had such a fun time! We had taken Connor to the pool at the end of last summer, but he was too little to really enjoy it. Here are some pictures and videos of Connor's first time in his baby pool.

Waiting for Mommy to fill the pool up.

Connor loves to splash!
Not so sure about the fountain.
In this first video you can see it took him a minute to figure out what we were doing.
But he became a fan of the pool really quickly!

I'm sure we will be spending a lot more time here this summer!

A Wonderful Day

Well, my first Mother's Day was as perfect as it could be!  Cole and Connor made it such a special day for me.  This morning I woke up to pancakes, cards, and presents!  What more could a girl want? :)  And I am really looking forward to that massage!
This morning at church Connor made his first "artwork" and it was for me!  I love it and it is already up on the refrigerator. :)

These evening we celebrated Mother's Day with my mom.  We went out and had a "Mighty Fine" burger!  I am so thankful for my mom.  She means the world to me!  It has been so nice that our schedules have allowed us to spend more time together this past year.  I treasure her friendship and appreciate all she does for me.  I know I don't say it enough so thank you Mom for all you do!  I love you!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Surprise Visitor

After Connor's morning nap we headed to the playroom at the front of the house.  As I walked by the front door I saw something outside, but I couldn't tell what it was.  To our surprise we had a turtle sitting on our front porch!  We have never seen a turtle in our neighborhood before, but we assume it probably came from the retention pond at the back of the neighborhood.  I took Connor outside and he got to see his first live turtle!

We checked outside this afternoon and found our friend hanging out in the flower bed.  I'm not sure if he is lost or just decided he wants to live with us! :)  I think tonight we will probably take him back to his pond where he belongs.

Backyard Fun

This past week Connor was a very lucky boy.  His Nana and Poppa took him to Toys R Us to pick out a swing set for his birthday.  We found the perfect one and finished putting it together on Thursday night.  Nana and Poppa came over to help and watch Connor play.  He LOVES his new swing set!  Thank you Poppa and Nana!

Checking out his new slide.
Connor had fun playing with his grandparents.
