Trying New Things

Those of you who knew me well as a kid know that I LOVED PB&J sandwiches.  I could have eaten one at every meal and been perfectly happy.  Since Connor is turning 2 this week we decided to go ahead and let him try peanut butter for the first time.

Yay for PB& J!
First bite...
"What is this stuff?"
"Yuck!"
So you can see that the first try was not a hit.  Since these pictures I have made it for him 2 other times and he is slowly starting to enjoy it.

Saturday morning Cole made a trip to the donut shop and Connor got to try something else for the first time... a chocolate covered donut!  He was really excited when he saw Cole walk in the door with the bag, but was not sure what to think when he saw it.
Slowly he decided it was safe to try a bite.
However we had to stop after every bite so Connor could "wash hands momma!"  This boy does not like to have his hand dirty!
After a few bites he asked for a donut hole instead.
The verdict is still out on whether he liked his chocolate donut or not.  After about 4 bites he was done.  He really hasn't had chocolate yet so I think all the sweetness may have been just too much for him.

It's a....

BOY!!!

Cole and I are so excited to find out we are having another boy!  It will be so much fun for Connor to have a brother.  At our appointment on Monday the doctor said everything looked great.  I was measuring right on schedule and right now the baby is measuring about 4 days ahead of my due date.  Their guess with all the measurements was that he weighed about 8 ounces!  They say on average at this time the baby is usually about 5 1/2 inches long.  I am still feeling great with the exception of being more tired than usual, but Connor is making sure I don't slow down too much! :)

Now if we can just decide on a name for this new little guy!

William Kent Morris

Congratulations to John and Kaci on their new addition!
William Kent Morris
7lbs 11oz  20inches
We got a call late Friday night from John that they were headed to the hospital so immediately Cole and I started making plans to be there.  We quickly threw our bags together and left early on Saturday morning.

William and I meeting for the first time when he was 11 hours old.
Such a sweet baby!
Thankful Cole kept Connor entertained most of the weekend to give Kaci and I some time to visit.  With an almost 2-year old that is no easy task (especially when the hospital had signs posted everywhere asking you to "control your children") :)
After hanging out for awhile at the hospital we headed back to our hotel.  It was the perfect place for Connor because we had a door separating the bedroom from living area so all 3 of us didn't have to go to bed at 8.  Connor was so interested in the phone we finally just unplugged it and it kept him entertained for hours!
Sunday morning we headed back up to hospital to see baby William one more time before we had to head back.  Kaci was being released soon so we all headed back to the Morris house to be there for William's first time home.

Kaci and I with our boys
After a great lunch and some running around in the backyard our quick trip had to come to an end.

We were so glad that we were able to William and can't wait for many more fun times in the future!

Last Week

It is definitely beginning to feel like summer around here!  I have loved being able to do so many things outside recently.  We had great weather last week and took full advantage of it.  We first went over to Emily's house for a fun play date in the backyard.  They had the pool set up with lots of toys and they even enjoyed a few snacks on Emily's picnic table.  Connor loves playing with his friend "Emma"!
We also took a trip to Mimi's pool.  I think you will find us here a lot this summer!  The kids pool is just perfect for Connor and he loves being in the water.

Later in the week Connor took a trip with Mimi to the playground.  You can tell by the pictures that digging in the rocks is his favorite part!
We ended our fun week with a trip to Midland to meet a special new addition to our family.  I will post more about that soon.  For now we are off to the doctor to official find out what we are having!

Connor and Kate

This past weekend we had a fun visit from Amy, David, and Kate.  Amy had come in town for her 10 year high school reunion so we were glad to have another opportunity to get to see them!  On Saturday morning we headed out to Nana and Poppa's house.  Usually the first thing Connor does when he gets to their house is play the piano and Saturday was no exception.

Connor and Kate playing "Jesus Loves Me" for everyone
Connor was too busy to look at the camera, but Kate gave me a sweet smile. :)
We are so excited that Amy and David are expecting their second baby in December.  We are about to go from 2 to 4 in a matter of months!  Looks like we are going to have to pull a few more chairs up to Nana's piano. :)

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend I was able to celebrate my 2nd Mother's Day.  I am so thankful that God chose me to be Connor's "Momma" and can't wait to meet our new little one in October!  We had a fantastic time hanging out with family and I was spoiled all weekend by my two boys.

I started celebrating Saturday morning when I received these beautiful flowers form Kevin and Rachel.  I have loved having fresh flowers in my house this week!  Thank you!

Later that afternoon we headed out to Dripping Springs to spend some time with Cole's family.  We enjoyed a great lunch that included some of Bill's smoked brisket.  It was nice visiting with everyone that was able to make it.  Connor always has a great time at his Nana and Poppa's house.
We also were able to celebrate Mother's Day early with Grandmommy or "Grandmomma" as Connor calls her.
After a short nap we spent the rest of the evening celebrating Mother's Day with my mom.  Kevin and Rachel were unexpectedly in town so we were all able to celebrate together.  Such a nice surprise!  Connor put on show for his aunt and uncle most of the weekend.  Rachel sent me some really cute videos that she took that I will post soon.

Several of us were in the mood for Mexican food so we headed to Chuy's for Mom's Mother's Day dinner.

I love how Connor is looking up at Cole in this picture!

Connor and Cole made Sunday morning extra special for me!  Cole let me sleep in a little later while he got up with Connor and made breakfast.  Then Connor came in to wake me up when breakfast was ready announcing in a VERY excited voice "Momma, Dada pancakes!"  This boy loves pancakes as much as his mom!

They also gave me this huge balloon, a new CD, and a gift certificate to get my nails done!  Connor held on to the balloon all morning for me. :)
We tried to get a picture before church, but this was about as good as it got.  Connor was more worried about the balloon being in the picture with us than smiling for the camera.
Thank you Cole and Connor for making me feel so special.  Also, thank you to my wonderful mom and mother-in-law for being such great examples for me.  I love you all very much!

Catching Up

Be sure to check out all the new posts!

(I think this is a record for me) :)

Happy Mother's Day!

More details on our Mother's Day weekend coming soon!

Baby Hayden

Last Monday, Cole and I went to our 4th appointment to check on our sweet new addition.  We got a good report and everything looked great.  They said the baby and I were both progressing perfectly.  Even though I am still considered "high risk" the doctor is not as concerned this time around since everything went so well with Connor.  We go back on May 24th for our big ultrasound where we will find out what we are having!  Can't wait to see if Connor is going to have a little brother or sister!

Splash Day

This past week we had a few really warm days that were perfect for playing outside.  I brought Connor's swim suit over to my mom's house and we set up the baby pool for him to play in.  Even though the temperature was hot the water still was cold so Connor spent most of his time playing with the water hose.  I can't wait for more sunny days to play outside!
