Special Visit
This past weekend my cousin Alan and his family flew in from Virginia for Thanksgiving. We were so glad we had a chance to see them while they were in town. Alan and Amy have 3 precious kids who have grown up so much since we last saw them!

Happy 1 Month Carson
Now that you are 1 month old:
You still sleep the majority of the day. When you are awake you are one happy little boy and hardly ever fuss. When you get hungry you usually start squirming around and let a one or two little cries. We have yet to hear you get really upset.
You are content no matter if you are being held or laying down. Your favorite place to be though is on your tummy. Your hair is falling out quickly and continues to look like a lighter shade of brown. I am pretty sure you are going to have brown eyes like your brother.
The few hours that you are awake you make all sorts of fun faces. Some that look like smiles...
... and some that are very serious!
You found your hand this past week and I often catch you looking at it.
When your brother is in charge of the photo shoot this is what it looks like. He thought your puppy looked much better laying on top of you.
-Newborn diapers
-Eating about 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours during the day. At night you can go about 5 hours before eating again (last night it was 6!)
-Newborn and 3 month clothing
You are one loved little boy!

Hoppin' House and Pizza
This past week we took Connor to a few fun places for a chance to get out of the house and burn some energy. Our first stop was Hoppin' House. We had seen this place several times when we went to "the gym" (Gymboree), but had never been inside. After spending the morning there we were really impressed. It was not crowded at all and they only charged an entry fee for Connor. Although he wasn't too interested in the bouncy houses he loved this toddler play area and the big foam pit.
We left Carson in the car seat and he slept the entire time.
The next day we were planning on running a few errands and decided to have lunch at Gatti Town. My mom and I had taken Connor here once before Carson was born and he loved it! After eating some pizza we let Connor play a few games.
We spent the whole time playing bowling which has become one of his favorite things to do whether it is on the Wii at Mimi's house or just making our own bowling game with cups.
This is by far the closest thing he has done to the real game. It is so neat! Just a miniature version of the real thing. His favorite part is picking out which ball to use and watch it shoot back up into the holding area.
We loved watching his different "techniques."

I'm so thankful that we have been able to get out and do a few special things with Connor since we have been spending most of our days at home. Thanks to Mimi it has also been a lot easier to get out the door with these 2 little boys!
Kevin and Rachel
Last week we were thrilled to have a visit from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Rachel. As soon as they arrived they had a few minutes to meet Carson and then Connor was ready to play.

Since this was the first time we had seen them since they found out they were expecting we had a few little surprises ready for them. It was perfect timing because a few days before they arrived they found out they are having a boy! They are going to be great parents and we can't wait to have another boy around. Our new nephew should be here early April.
We had lots of fun just hanging out and visiting. Of course Mr. Connor loved all the extra attention!
My sweet, silly boy! (Connor spilt his drink down shirt #1 so by the end of the night we matched.) :)
Mimi and Carson
Thank you, Kevin and Rachel, for coming to visit. We had such a wonderful time and can't wait to see you again at Christmas.

Shutterfly Special Offer
I heard from another blog about this great offer from SHUTTERFLY. (Which just happens to be one of my favorite places!) They are asking bloggers to write a post about their experience using Shutterfly and in return receive a code for 50 free Christmas cards. Amazing, right?! If you would also like to sign up to receive 50 free cards, CLICK HERE!
For years I have been using Shutterfly for a variety of their products. Some of my favorite things to order from them are the photo books. I have found that this is the perfect way to capture all the memories of our family in a special keepsake. I have never been good about getting pictures that I order in albums so this helps me skip that step all together. Since Connor was born I have made at least 8 different books and plan on making lots more for Carson. There are so many different designs to choose from and they are so easy to make! If you are in a hurry they even have a program that will insert the pictures for you. With Christmas around the corner a PHOTO BOOK from Shutterfly would make the perfect gift!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of year! I love checking the mail to see every ones Christmas card. For the past several years I have ordered our cards using Shutterfly. They have the best designs, are easy to use, and you can buy them at a great price!
Here is our card from 2008:

I already have my eye on a few for our family to use this year. Here are just a few of the ones I found. I love the fun designs on both of these. It is going to be hard to chose!
One other thing I love about Shutterfly is all the special offers that they send you. From free shipping to sometimes even free photo books they always have amazing deals. Something on my wish list this year is a PHOTO CALENDAR that I can't wait to start making!
Thank you Shutterfly for this amazing offer!

Carson's First Bath
Since we brought him home from the hospital I have been giving Carson sponge baths, but now that his umbilical cord is completely gone he was able to have his first official bath. Kevin and Rachel are in town (more pictures on that soon) so we headed over to mom's house and everyone got to help! :)
He really seemed to enjoy being in the water. As soon as I put him in there his eyes got really big and he never cried once. I expected tears since Connor wasn't a big fan of baths at first.
I wanted him to be able to sit down in the water so I didn't use the infant sling. Luckily, Mimi was close by to help hold his head still.
Connor watched the whole thing and was very interested in what Carson was doing. He has really enjoyed helping me bathe Carson.
The only time we heard Carson cry was when we took him out and he got cold.
A towel and pacifier seemed to make it all better. :)

2 Weeks
Another week has flown by. Carson is still sleeping the majority of the time, but he is becoming more alert during the day. He is just the easiest baby right now. (I hesitate to even say that because I know tomorrow can be a different story.) :) You hardly ever hear him fuss and whenever he is awake he is content wherever you put him. I am so thankful for this because he has definitely made the transition to 2 kids a lot easier on me.
On Monday morning I took him for his 2 week check up. He looked so tiny laying up on the doctors table!
2 Week Stats:
Height- 22 inches (90%)
Weight- 7lbs 14oz (20%)
Since he was past his birth weight his pediatrician said I could let him sleep as long as he wanted at night. On his first night he slept from 11:00 to 4:00 and has done about the same on the past few nights. I hope he continues to be such a great sleeper!
Connor has been wanting to do everything that Carson does when he sees him getting attention. Even if that means laying in a baby crib. :)
Celebrating All Weekend
Fall Fest
Friday night we took Connor to the Bannockburn Christian Academy's fall festival. We arrived towards the end so most of our time was spent visiting with friends. One stop we made was the train ride. Connor was excited when he saw the train, but the smiles soon turned to tears when he got on. We had no idea why he didn't like it, but he definitely was not a fan. When he got off I asked him about it and he told me "it so fun!" Maybe they were tears of joy? :)
Emily's 2nd Birthday
We were so excited to celebrate with Emily at her Yo Gabba Gabba party. Beth did an amazing job with all the decorations and party planning. The kids had a blast playing with all of the toys outside.
Connor and Caleb checking out Emily's new swing set.
Connor and the birthday girl on the bouncy house.
Beth made shirts for all the kids. Each one had a different Yo Gabba Gabba character on it. They turned out so cute!
After the party we made it home just in time to watch the Baylor/UT game. Carson must have brought the Bears good luck wearing his green and gold.
Halloween
Each year our neighborhood hosts a party with hot dogs, a costume contest, and hay ride. Connor put on his train conductor costume and we headed outside to visit with friends. Mimi, Nana, and Grandmommy were also able to join us for the fun.
We had a picnic in the front yard after the costume contest.
The Hoggs and Roberts came down and joined us. Hudson looked so cute as a little longhorn. :)
Carson spent most of the night inside hanging out with all of his grandmothers.
Towards the end of the evening I realized that Connor never actually went "trick or treating." I quickly explained to him what to do and had him go outside and ring the doorbell. He loved it! (Especially when I let him have a lollipop after.)
My sweet little pumpkin
It was a busy weekend filled with lots of fun. I am so excited that November is here and have already started looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love this time of year!
