First Day of Pre-K

Well, we officially made it through our first day of preschool.  After a pancake breakfast made by Daddy, we quickly got dressed and headed out.  Cole and I both got to take him to school this morning while Carson stayed with Mimi.  On the way their he kept telling us how much he loved us which translated to us that he was a little nervous and needed some extra love.  When we arrived he headed straight to his classroom and made himself right at home.  I'm glad we made a trip up to his school this weekend to get some pics because he was in no mood to stop for photos.  Going to Pre-K is serious business. :)
When did he get so big?!
The first words out of his mouth when he saw me where "Mommy, I didn't eat my carrots!"  He hid them in a separate container and I guess wanted to make a confession before I saw them. :)  We then had a talk that he doesn't have to eat everything.
His favorite part of his day was seeing friends on the playground, eating lunch, and going to different stations in the classroom.
We think Connor's new teacher will be a perfect fit for him.  I gave him a Back to School interview where he told me that his best friend is Ms. G.  He loves her already!
He read lots of stories and learned the rules.  Plus, he got to try out his new nap mat during rest time.
Apparently he didn't sleep though because he was out as soon as we started heading home.
After a nice long nap he woke up to a surprise we threw together.  He definitely had a great first day and is already excited about going back.  I think it is going to be a great year.
Oh, and what about Carson you say?  He managed just find being the only child  Throughout the day he asked for "brother" over and over, but I think he really enjoyed his alone time. :)

Summer in Review

It is the night before preschool starts so our summer is officially coming to an end.  I knew I had several posts I never got around to sharing so you are getting an all-in-one for those summer adventures.

For several months now, Connor has asked to go to Build-a-Bear every time we go to the mall.  His wish finally came true a few weeks ago when Mimi took him for a special treat.  He loved the whole process and is now the proud owner of a dog named Dude. Carson also came home with a new puppy dog that we named Bear.
During the summer there were 2 Saturdays that Cole had the boys by himself and somehow they always ended up at Cabela's. :)  The kids love it and it is great indoor entertainment for free.  During one of their trips they even got to meet up with some friends.  Carson absolutely LOVES the fish there.
Last week, the boys took their first trip to the bowling alley.  Connor, Mimi, and I all bowled while Carson sat and cheered us on.  It was a lot of fun for all of us.  I forgot how much fun bowling can be.  We didn't break any records for high scores, but we definitely all  had a great time.
This summer we have been able to spend lots of time with cousins.  I love when we can all get together!
Finally, we ended our summer with a trip to the circus.  Nana and Poppa took all the grandkids and we had a blast.  It was a fun day!

Meet the Teacher

On Thursday, Connor and I headed up to his new school for Meet the Teacher.  He had the chance to meet Ms. G, check out his classroom and all the other fun places he gets to go during the day.  We love Ms. G already and are excited to start this new adventure.
Connor was also excited to bring Ms. G a little gift.  I found this cute book plate printable online that I thought would go perfect with a new book for the classroom library.  Connor picked out one of his favorites for her: Curious George's First Day of School.  It never hurts to to show a little love to this sweet teacher that is going to be loving on my baby all year long!
These were so easy to make!  You should check it out:  Dixie Delights: Book Plates

Happy 22 Months, Carson!

Here is what Mr. Carson is up to:

Still a great sleeper at night (~13 hrs) and takes a good afternoon nap (~2.5 hrs).

Mimics everything Connor does and wants to be treated like a "big kid."  He wants everything Connor gets.  If Connor need a glass or water then Carson needs one too. :)

Always dancing to music

Loves to snuggle with a blanket and stuffed animal/lovie while he sleeps.
Has a new love for Elmo.  He wants to read Elmo books, watch Elmo movies, play with Elmo toys, and sleep with Elmo stuffed animals.

Loves bath time, especially when there are bubbles!
Love playing with cars, trains, and basically anything Connor has in his hand.

Always trying to "type" on the computer and play with our cell phones.  His favorite thing to do is look at pictures on our phones and name everyone he sees.

Very quiet in new settings or with large groups of people.  He likes to sit back and observe.
And just to give you a little behind the scenes look at these photo shoots...
Taking pictures of Carson sitting in his chair is a workout!  He is out of that chair before I can even look through my camera.  This is no easy task people! :)

George James Morris

Early Tuesday morning I got a call that my cousin, Kaci, was at the hospital.  Mom, the boys, and I loaded up as fast as we could and high tailed it to Midland.  We were beyond thrilled that it worked out for us to get to go.  On our way we got the text that it was a BOY!

George James Morris
7lbs 2oz
19 1/4" long

He is perfect and absolutely adorable!

Mom with her new great nephew

My boys had SO much fun with William.
I can't wait for the fun ahead with all these boys!
Congratulations Morris Family!

Pizza, Prizes, and Plenty of Fun

In our goal to take advantage of every last day of summer, we took the boys to a place Connor has been dreaming about for months.  Thanks to commercials on PBS we have long been fans of Chuck E Cheese before ever stepping foot in the place.  Mom and I decided to make a little boy's dream come true and head there for lunch.

After we filled up on pizza Connor tried out the tv cameras on stage.  Carson loved being able to see big brother on the screen.  So cool!
When I tried to take Carson's pic this is what I got.  Silly boy!
I'm pretty sure Carson rode every car and truck in the place.  He loved pretending to drive them all.
They had tons of rides for younger kids.
Connor loved getting to go around and pick different games to play.  Basketball and skeeball were two of his favorites.
We left with a handful of prizes and a whole lot of smiles.  It was a great first trip to Chuck E Cheese.

New Posts

An afternoon at home meant time to get caught up on a few posts. :)  Hopefully more coming soon.

Aggie Fan Day

Yesterday we went to College Station to watch some Aggie football.  There was a special free event for Aggie fans where you could watch the team scrimmage and then get autographs from the players.  The boys were excited to go on our little trip.
Our first stop was at Blue Baker for some lunch.
We made it to the field towards the end of practice.  It was so HOT that we didn't mind not being there the whole time.

It was so cool being able to get right down on the field while they were playing.
We ended up skipping out on the autographs after seeing the huge line we would have waited in.  Instead we  headed to Koppe Burger with the Ela family.  Scott also went to A&M so it was fun for all the kids to get to see where their dads went to school.  The boys also loved getting to hang out with Hudson and Harper.
The moment we pulled out of the parking lot Carson was out.  It had been a long day for this little guy.
While he slept, we drove around and showed Connor some of the special places to us in College Station.

Here is our apartment we lived in during our first year of marriage.
My first job was teaching 3rd grade at Allen Academy.  Here is the Lower School building that I worked in.
The year after I left they built their new building.  It was fun to see it all complete.
We also took one more drive around campus to show Connor a few more things.
It was fun getting to see some things from our past and share them with the boys.  Lots of fun memories!
