Ready, Set, Pose!

Connor and I have had a great week so far. We had MOPS on Monday and Bible study this morning. He has really started to enjoy playing in the nursery, especially with his friend Emily. He has even started praying for "Em-ly" at night. So cute!

After lunch today I decided to try and take some pictures for a few Valentine's projects. It was just Connor and I at home today so it was almost impossible to keep him still AND take pictures. I felt like it was a race to see who was the fastest! After about 5 minutes of chasing after him and lots of blurry shots I decided to break out the lollipop. This definitely kept him still, but it hardly ever left his mouth. Not quite what I was looking for... :)
I thought it was sweet how shared with his bear!
About a minute later drool was all over the shirt and to my surprise he handed the sucker back to me because he was ready to get up a go play. (I told him he could only have it while he was sitting and he was not too excited about that!) Needless to say 19 month old boys are way to busy to stop and pose for pictures.
I wasn't ready to give up yet so I changed his shirt and we headed to his room. Connor loves to sit and read in his chair so that is where we tried next.
I might not have been able to get the perfect shot I was looking for today, but we sure had lots of fun trying.

The Backyardigans

For awhile the Backyardigans has been one of Connor's favorite shows. He is mesmerized by all their singing and dancing and they have definitely made some long car trips a lot shorter! With his increasing vocabulary he is getting a lot better at communicating what he wants. A few nights ago while we are were in the car I hear Connor from the backseat saying "Pabo (Pablo)... Tyrone" (2 of the characters on the show) So now not only does he point to the DVD player and say "Peeaaas", but we are also starting to request what show we wants to watch. Once again I am amazed at how fast this little boy is growing up! I love this new stage!

Look What I Found...

We have had a pretty low-key week and surprisingly I have nothing exciting to report. I did however manage to reorganize/clean out almost every closet/drawer in our house thanks to Connor's day at Mimi's house. We now have a huge pile in our garage of things we are needing to donate. It is amazing how fast you can accumulate things (especially with a baby)!

Connor is talking up a storm. His vocabulary increases every day. Tonight he was playing with Cole and I heard him yell across the room "Ready... Set... Go!" That is one of the many things he has started saying that we have no idea where he got it from. He also is starting to repeat almost everything we say.

I was looking through Cole's cell phone and found pictures that brought back some sweet memories. Since I have no new pictures to share I decided to leave you with a few "old" pictures. Can you believe how much he has changed?

Jump Up!

In case you haven't had the chance to see Connor "jump" here is a video to check out...

Happy 19 Months, Connor!

Once again I couldn't decide on just one "monthly" picture so I narrowed it down to 3.

I love how he crosses his feet while he sits!
"Are we done taking pictures?"
Giving his puppy one of his famous hugs!

Now that Connor is 19 months...

-Saying lots of new words everyday

-Knows almost all the words to "Jesus Loves Me" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" He hums on the parts he doesn't know.

-Started putting 2 and 3 words together. A few nights ago as Cole and I were putting him to bed he said "I wuv you!" :)

-Can count to 13 and everything is "teen" after that.

-LOVES to give adults hugs (and loves the attention/reaction he receives as a result!)

-Could play all day! (especially with all his new Christmas presents) He has also started to pretend play.

-Can "jump" (Hopefully I will get a video of this one)

- Pretend to sneeze or cough when he hears someone else doing it.

-Loves to help with whatever I am doing. Laundry, dishes, putting away groceries...

-Getting a lot better at using a spoon and fork

-Loves to organize his toys in a row

-Learning how to spell his name. He always has noticed his name on his chair and we started saying the letters together. It usually comes out as " C O N N O P" Can you tell he has the "O P" part down in the alphabet? And again lining up the toys...
We love all the fun new things Connor is doing and can't wait to see what this month brings!

Christmas in Texarkana

It has taken me a really long time to get these pictures up, but better late than never! :)

Sunday after Christmas we headed up to Texarkana to visit my grandparents. This year Kevin, Rachel, Mom, Connor, and I all made the trip. We missed having Cole with us, but since he only had one day off for Christmas he was unable to join us.

Our first stop was Papa and Ginny's house. It was nice to be greeted by all of our family when we arrived. Connor was glad to be out of the car and ready to play with Papa! We had an evening filled with great food, fellowship, and fun.

My cousins, Courtney and Callie

One of my favorite couples!
John and Kaci

Connor had a great time open his gifts.

Our second stop was at Momma Lou and Ed's house. It was great to spend some more time with our family who we don't get to see that often.

We were also really glad that these two were able to make the trip with us!

Courtney, Uncle Jeff, Callie, and Aunt Melanie

After a fabulous lunch we opened gifts and played a couple of fun Christmas trivia games.

Connor trying out his new rocking chair for the first time.

Taking a break to give Momma Lou a hug. :)

Callie and Courtney even brought their new puppy, Caesar, over for a visit. I think the look on Connor's face pretty much sums up how he felt about Caesar. :)

It was a whirlwind trip and we were back on the road by Tuesday. Since our visit was so short we invited Momma Lou to come back home with us for a few days and were thrilled when she said yes! Connor had lots of fun with his "momma wuu."

Christmas at Nana and Poppa's

Saturday after Christmas we headed over to Nana and Poppa's house to celebrate Cole's family. We had a great afternoon hanging out, opening gifts, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner! It was fun this year to watch Kate and Connor open all of their gifts. They definitely kept us entertained!

Thank you Nana and Poppa for such a fun day!

Christmas at Mimi's

Mimi's house was our next stop on Christmas morning. It was nice to just relax and enjoy being with family. Connor kept us all completely entertained of course!

Can you tell he was having a GREAT day?

We spent the day playing with some old toys...

and opening some new ones!

Uncle Kevin and Aunt Rachel found the cutest Jack in the Box for Connor.

This was the first gift that he opened and his reaction was priceless! Thank you Rachel for putting together this video to share.
Uncle Kevin showing Connor his new airplane.

Singing for his audience!

Checking out his new train table from Mimi.

After we had our traditional Christmas lunch we headed outside for one more surprise from Mimi. A new tractor!

Daddy teaching him how the pedal works. He looks like such a big boy riding around on his tractor!

By the end we all had a GREAT day!

Our Family Christmas

This was our second Christmas morning together as a family of 3 and even more fun than last year! We got smart this year and decided to have the 2 gifts that "required assembly" already open and waiting on him. While Cole went to get him out of his bed I waited in the living room with the video camera in one hand and my camera in the other. As Connor came around the corner he ran straight for the new "Racing Ramp" for his cars! I think we could have taken the other 3 gifts back and he would have been perfectly happy! :)

After awhile we noticed that Thomas the Train was on his tent and decided to go check it out. All we heard the whole time he was in it was "Chooo Chooo Choo Chooo." I think he thought he was in a train! He was a little leery about the tunnel at first, but once he realized you could see out the top he started to enjoy it.

Opening up his other gifts from Santa...

Checking out his stocking...

The biggest grins and giggles from the morning came when we took his T-ball set out of the box. Cole showed him how to hit the ball with a bat and he LOVED it!
I have been on a little blogging break, but have lots more fun things to post about soon! Christmas at Mimi's, Christmas at Nana and Poppa's, a trip to Texarkana, and Connor's 19 month post!
