Puppy and Sheepy
Connor has never been one to enjoy playing with stuffed animals. He usually takes one look at them and then moves on to the trains and cars. This is why I was so shocked that he recently has become so attached to these two that he lovingly refers to as "Sheepy" (the lamb) and "Puppy." Every night Cole and I are asked to give them a hug and kiss and put them to bed before we put Connor to bed. He loves routines and this has become one of them.
Well, today I was walking by his room and saw him kneeling down by his ottoman reading Sheepy and Puppy a book before he put them to bed. I quickly grabbed the camera and got a few shots of his little role-play fun.
He gets a burp cloth out of the drawer to use as their blanket.
Telling the puppy that this was a picture of "purple grapies (grapes)."
Time to go night night.
"Night night, Momma!"

Celebrating Poppa's Birthday!
Last night we went out to celebrate Bill's birthday. Everyone met up at Rudy's which is definitely a favorite for all 3 of us! After some yummy BBQ we opened some gifts and enjoyed some pies and cheesecake. I forgot my camera at home, but luckily Cole took some pictures for us on his iPhone.
Happy Birthday, Poppa! We are so thankful for you and hope you had a wonderful birthday! We love you!

Happy 22 Months Connor!
We are coming to the end of monthly updates! I know I say this every month, but I can't believe he is almost two!
Connor is becoming very independent. He likes to do things by himself and knows just the way he wants things done. Connor is definitely starting to try to figure out his boundaries with us.
Everyday his vocabulary increases. One of my favorite new things he has been saying lately is "scue me" (excuse me) when he is trying to get by. He has been putting lots of words together lately to almost make a complete sentence.
Lately, he has loved to snuggle. I stop every time he wants to sit in my lap and be loved on because I know those days wont last forever.
Books, puzzles, trains, balls, and cars continue to be some of his favorite things to play with.
This boy still loves to eat! The only thing he has seemed to turn down recently are jelly beans (from Easter) and gummy bears. He definitely did not take after his Momma on sweets!
Here is one of my favorite pictures from this past month. I love to hear his sweet little laugh!
He has started to enjoying "reading" to me as much as me reading to him. Here is a video of him reading one of his favorite books. I will try to post some more videos soon! They really are the best way to see how much he is growing up!

Easter
We started out the morning with a little visit from the Eater bunny.
Connor was VERY excited about his new Thomas coloring book, but not so excited about me putting bunny ears on him. :) I thought the Christmas pjs on Easter was a nice touch!
Getting ready for church.
We had a beautiful service at church to celebrate our Risen Savior and then headed to Mimi's for some more fun.
New glasses like Daddy!
Connor was so excited about his new trains that he didn't want to put them down so Thomas was in our family picture this year. :)
Smiling with Mimi
By lunch time he was exhausted so he watched a little Praise Baby with Daddy to rest for awhile.
Connor was one lucky little boy to have Nana, Poppa, and Mimi all together for lunch. It is so nice to have family close by.
After lunch Grandmommy came over and we had an egg hunt. It was still a little wet outside so we hid them in the living room.
Showing Grandmommy all the eggs he found.
I hope your Easter was wonderful as well!

Easter Egg Hunts
This past Saturday we attended 2 different neighborhood egg hunts. We started the morning off in our neighborhood. We arrived while the egg hunt was going on and there were so many kids we just decided to watch. I could not believe how many people showed up! It has been nice that our neighborhood has had so many events to get everyone together.
Connor saw all the big kids climbing up these tires and thought he had to try.
The Easter bunny even showed up, but this was about as close as Connor would get. I think he thought if he bent down the bunny couldn't see him. :)
Right after our party we headed over to my mom's neighborhood to let Connor participate in the egg hunt. It was a nice size group and well organized so all the children had plenty of eggs to find. They even had a separate section for 3 and under which I loved! They gave Connor a blue egg and told him that he could pick up any of the blue eggs. (We ended up with a few other colors too.) :) He found lots of eggs and even won a prize.
Connor and Mimi heading to the park.
Connor was just the right age to really enjoy the egg hunt. It was definitely a fun way to start off our Easter weekend!

Bluebonnets
Friday we took Connor up to church to see if we could take some pictures in the bluebonnets. They have lots of volunteers who do such a wonderful job of keeping our church grounds beautiful.
I have learned to not have any expectations with this 1 year old on whether or not he is going to sit still long enough for me to snap a picture. :) Most of the shots we got were of him on the go, but they still turned out cute. He ran all over church picking up rocks, checking out the playground, and enjoying his "popsicle" that I used to try to encourage him to sit still. Here are some of my favorites...
