A Weekend Away

This past weekend Cole and I headed to Houston for a company dinner.  The dinner was fun, but we were even more excited about getting a chance for just the two of us to get away!  This was our attempt at taking a picture on my phone before we left for the dinner.  Can you tell we don't take a lot of self portraits? :)
Our hotel was across the street from the Galleria so we spent Saturday morning over there before heading back to Austin.  The free parking was in this garage that had the lowest ceiling I had ever seen!  It was so low that at one point I realized I was even ducking in the car.  As if that would help our antena to stop scraping the top of the ceiling.  I think we might spend the $5 to park outside if we ever go back.
Meanwhile, back in Austin our boys had no idea that we were even gone.  They were excited to get a chance to spend the weekend with Mimi.
Their weekend was filled with playing...
reading...
stickers...
 making messes...
 ...and some cupcakes!
Connor took his job of icing the cupcakes very seriously. :)
To top it off, the boys spent Saturday night at mom's as well as we had a date night in Austin.  Thank you Mimi for our weekend away!

Happy 15 Months Carson!

Now that Carson is 15 months:

Weight: 30 lbs (97%)
Heights 33 1/2 inches (97%)

Full-time walker and getting faster by the day!
You are always on the go and are in to everything.
Carson loves his brother so much that he will laugh when he laughs, cry when he cries, dance when he dances, snuggle when he snuggles...  I love watching these two become best friends.
Most of the time Carson is such a sweet, calm baby who watches and observes everything around him.
However, he has begun to make his opinion known.  From food choices to books we read... Carson has an opinion.
Saying lots of new words and more interested in mimicking what we say.  He can count to 10 with you, say several different animals sounds, point to different body parts, and starting to chime in on some of his favorite songs.  Even though most of the things he says aren't understandable, he definitely gets his message across! :)
Sleeps about 12 hours at night and takes at least 2 good naps a day.
Sweet is the best word to describe this boy!  Especially when he snuggles up and passes out hugs and kisses.
Happy 15 Months, Carson!  We love you more and more each day!

One More Christmas Post

A few days after Christmas we had a special visit from my grandparents.  Connor and Carson were thrilled that they had made the trip down to see us.
I did not do a very good job of documenting their trip, but thankfully my sister-in-law, Rachel, sent me some pictures to share with you. (Thank you, Rachel!)
The boys loved all the extra attention too! :)
Owen, Carson, and Connor
They gave the boys their Christmas gifts while they were here and all of them were a big hit!
Carson is especially proud of his new rocking chair.  This boy loves to rock!
Thank you Momma Lou and Ed for coming to see us.  We love you!

This is all I've got...

After it being so quiet around here lately it will come as no surprise that I have not even picked my camera up in weeks!  I am not coming to you empty handed though.  I looked through my phone and found a few pictures from the past week to share.  This new year has gotten off with a busy start, but we are loving every minute of it!

Today we met up with some friends to celebrate Caleb's 3rd birthday at the bouncy house.  These two stopped for a quick pic on the way out.  I love that they want to hold hands everywhere we go. :)
Last week we had a special treat and were able to visit Nana at school one day.
Connor LOVED it to say the least!
Carson has been enjoying his free month at the Little Gym.  He loves all the activity, but is most
excited when he sees Connor and Mimi watching from the window.
We have been taking advantage of this great weather.  If the cedar would go away it would be even more perfect!
We are still working on getting them to smile at the same time.  One day it will happen.
I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Christmas with Nana and Poppa

Our Christmas day ended and Nana and Poppa's house.  We headed out that afternoon for lots of fun with family, presents, and a wonderful dinner.

Carson loves his uncles and made his way over to David as fast as he could.  It was so cute to see how happy he was to just sit in his lap!
The kids had tons of fun opening their presents.
Connor loves to pretend play so these dress up clothes were perfect for him.
 He loves his football helmet!
Carson and Hannah were too cute playing the piano together.  It is so fun to have cousins to play with!
Grandmommy and Mimi joined us for dinner.  Everything was so good!  It was a fun evening and the perfect way to end our Christmas day.

Christmas with Mimi

After we got ready we headed to mom's house.  Connor walked in to find this puppet theater from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Rachel and immediately starting putting on a show for us.  He LOVES to entertain.
It was a special treat to have Kevin, Rachel and Owen there with us.  Especially being able to spend time with Owen on his first Christmas.
Carson absolutely adores Kevin.  He would snuggle up next to him any chance he had.
Carson also got lots of fun new things!
Mimi got the boys these matching pjs that were perfect for Christmas morning.
Taking inventory of what Carson is opening. :)
Mimi gave Connor and Carson a Wii for Christmas and I think ALL of my boys were equally as excited!
After opening gifts we enjoyed a wonderful lunch that mom had made for us.  So thankful to have my family all together.  I think that is one of my favorite parts of Christmas!

Christmas Morning

I am back from my blogging break to finish up all of our Christmas fun and hopefully be a little better about posting.  :)  It is great to be able to share our adventures with family far away and I know one day I will be so thankful to have this "scrapbook" to look back on our fun.

Christmas day started early for us.  Connor could barely sleep because he was so excited about Santa coming.  At 2:00 am he even sent me a little message over the monitor asking if Santa had already been there.  Thankfully he did not go out and look because I don't think I could have kept him away!

Connor came to our room about 6:30 and laid in bed with us until we finally woke Carson up about 7:30.  They were both a little sleepy, but still so excited to see their surprises Santa left.
Connor got a new Ch.ugginton train track and some books and Santa left Carson a new kitchen.
My boys love their routines and Carson did not see why Christmas was a reason to not have his breakfast as soon as he was up.
Apparently if you don't have an extra hand you can just carry your cup around in your mouth.
The boys also got to open up their present from us.  We decided to have 1 gift from us and 1 gift and a stocking from Santa which worked out perfect.
If only this picture had sound!
After everything was opened, Carson headed back to bed for a quick nap, Connor played with his trains and we got ready to head out for Christmas with our families.
