Baby Hayden

Last Monday, Cole and I went to our 4th appointment to check on our sweet new addition.  We got a good report and everything looked great.  They said the baby and I were both progressing perfectly.  Even though I am still considered "high risk" the doctor is not as concerned this time around since everything went so well with Connor.  We go back on May 24th for our big ultrasound where we will find out what we are having!  Can't wait to see if Connor is going to have a little brother or sister!

Baby Hayden at 11 weeks- 4D ultrasound- You can see the arm covering the face and the umbilical cord going up.

Splash Day

This past week we had a few really warm days that were perfect for playing outside.  I brought Connor's swim suit over to my mom's house and we set up the baby pool for him to play in.  Even though the temperature was hot the water still was cold so Connor spent most of his time playing with the water hose.  I can't wait for more sunny days to play outside!

Problem Solved!

Over the past several months we (aka Cole) have been trying to deal with some issues in our yard.  Some how we ended up with 2 types of grass in our lawn (Bermuda and Fescue).  The Fescue grew about 4 times faster than the Bermuda and was starting to overtake everything.  After trying several different method to get rid of it we decided our best option was to replace the whole thing.  Luckily, with Cole's profession, he knows lots of people that were able to help us.

Tuesday morning, "Pancho and the boys" (as Cole likes to refer to them) came out with the bobcat and ripped out the front and side yard.  Pancho does all of Cole's exterior cleaning and grading work and did a fantastic job with our yard!
Connor LOVED watching the bobcat rip up the old grass.  They kept him entertained for hours!

"Hi, Pancho!"  "Momma, what Pancho doing?"

By the end of the day they had ripped out all the grass, removed excess rocks that was never done, and regraded with new dirt.
On Wednesday, another crew came and laid out our new sod.  We replaced the Bermuda with St. Augustine and are very happy with the results.
"Dada, it bootiful!"

Happy 23 Months Connor!

This is Connor's last official monthly post before he is a 2 year old!  I will still be putting updates about what he has been up to, but as you can see it keeps getting harder and harder to pose him for his chair pictures. :)  I usually have about a 2 second window between the time I set him in the chair and right before he escapes.

Here is what Connor has been up to this past month:

-Using the word "boo-tiful" (beautiful) a lot!  While I am getting ready he will come tell me "Momma boo-tiful", but he also tells Cole that the yard is "boo-tiful" and yesterday he told a teddy bear that it was "boo-tiful"

-He is really enjoying having his "big boy room" (even though it is not completed)  He spends a lot of his time playing in there now.  I am hoping that getting him use to the room will help with the transition to his new bed. He also told my brother yesterday that his "big boy bed bootiful" :)

-This past week he has started humming randomly throughout the day.  I love it!  He will just be walking by going humming his own little song.  Connor also has been singing a lot more of the songs he has learned while he plays.

- Making short sentences.  Some of his words may not be clear to everyone, but I definitely know what he is saying.

-Has a few of his favorite books memorized.  He has about 3 or 4 that he constantly wants us to read.  I think he has heard them so many times that he has associated the pictures with the words and has memorized each set of words with each picture.  It is so cute to hear him "read" the books to us.
-Has learned most of his shapes and colors.  Thanks to 2 of his favorite books and a few puzzles.

-Can sing every letter in the ABC's perfectly except for "V" which is also "B."  :)

-Usually sleeps about 11 to 12 hours at night.  We try to have him in bed around 7:30 or 8 and is usually up at 7:00 or 7:30.

-Has 16 teeth and I think we are working on his 2 year molars right now.

-Wants to be very independent and continues to test all the limits as he learns his boundaries.

-Still such a sweet and loving little boy.  His smile can brighten any ones day!

Less than a month and we will have a 2 year old!

Busy Weekend

Ever since we found out we are expecting another baby I have been trying to decide the best option for moving Connor out of the crib and setting up a new room/ bed for him.  We decided to move Connor to the guest room and have him use our twin mattress.  Although we are going to wait as long as we can to move him, we have already started the beginning stages of getting his "big boy room" ready.  This weekend we worked hard cleaning out closets, organizing garages, and moving furniture.  It definitely was a good start!

On Friday night while my mom and I were working on a few things, Connor and Cole headed to Lowe's.  Cole sent me these pictures while they were there.  Connor LOVED this shopping cart.  I talked to Cole once on the phone while they were there and all I could hear Connor in the background saying was "Hooray!  Hooray!"
Lately Connor has been trying to repeat everything we say.  It has also made us realize how much he listens.  One example of this happened while the boys were at Lowe's.  Apparently a lady in a motorized cart passed by them and jokingly looked back and told Connor "I'm faster than you!"  And our little parrot looked right back at her and said "faster than you!"

After all the hard work we finally were able to get Connor's new bed up and the furniture rearranged.  We also ordered his new bedding yesterday from Pottery Barn.  I will post more pictures after it arrives.  Here is a sneak peek of Connor's new room..
Making himself right at home. :)
Connor's 23 month post is coming soon!
