Connor's 2nd Birthday

As soon as Connor woke up, Cole and I headed in to his room with his Thomas balloon singing Happy Birthday.  We had been talking about him having a birthday all week so I think he knew it was coming.  After he had a minute to wake up there were smiles all over his face!  He knew it was a special day. :)
We started the day with his favorite breakfast- pancakes.
After having some fun time playing with my 2 year old at home we headed to Mimi's pool for a swim.  We ended the morning with a picnic lunch and then went back home for Connor to take a nap.

Later that evening Nana, Poppa, Aunt Amy, Kate, and Mimi all came over for burgers and cake.  We wanted to have a small family celebration on Connor's actual birthday since his party was not until Saturday.  I decided to let the kids sit at Connor's table for dinner.  We weren't sure how it would turn out, but they did great!
After dinner we had cake and ice cream.  Connor is still in love with Thomas the Train so I ordered a cake with Thomas on it and he LOVED it!
Blowing out the candles
Having fun with his grandparents
He was not so sure about eating the cake at first.  He kept offering everyone else bites of it until finally he decided it was ok to try.
Sharing his cake with Thomas
Connor also was able to open some of his presents.  He got so many fun new things!

Looking back at these pictures I still can't believe that my baby boy is 2!

Birthday Post Coming Soon

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about posting pictures from all our festivities this weekend.  It is taking me awhile to narrow down the 300+ pictures that I have. :)

So just like Connor had to wait for all the animals to be unloaded for his party...
you will have to wait just a little bit longer to see the rest. :)
For now we are off to our first Bible study of the summer!

Memorial Day Weekend Part 2

For an early anniversary trip, Cole and I headed back to San Antonio for the last half of Memorial Day weekend to the new Marriott Hill Country Resort.  For the past 3 years we have always gone to Lost Pines, but decided to give this new place a try.  We had so much fun relaxing by the pool, floating on the lazy river, and eating some great Mexican food on our trip in to town.  It is a really nice facility and the perfect place for just the two of us to spend some time together.
While we were away Connor headed to Mimi's house and had a blast!  I knew when we left and he told us "Bye, see you later, goodbye" then shut the door that he was not going to miss us too much.  Thank you Mom so much for taking such good care of our little boy while we were away!  Here are some pictures of the fun they had.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Connor!

Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

On Friday morning we loaded up and headed to Sea World.  Cole had been able to take the day off which gave him 4 days off in a row with Memorial Day! (He has not had that many days off for a long time.)  We grabbed an early lunch in San Antonio before we got to the park which made it nice to avoid the lines and high prices.
Our first stop was the Shamu show.  We got there just as it started and the place was packed!  Luckily we found a spot to stand where you cold see everything.  Connor did not say a word during the whole show.  He was so focused on what the whales were doing, but would clap every time he heard the audience start.

We visited the penguins next.  It was so dark inside the pictures didn't turn out very well.
Watched the new show "Azul."  It had several different types of animals in it and lots of diving/acrobatics.  At this point we were so hot it was just nice to sit down for awhile and cool off. :)
My favorite was the dolphins.  They would swim by ready for you to feed them.
Connor seemed to really enjoy watching them until this one came and opened his mouth right in front of Connor and we were done. :)
Our last stop was the gift shop to let Connor pick out a stuffed animal to take home.  He walked over to this big basket of Shamu's and said "hmm... lets see" like it was a really tough decision which Shamu to take. :)
Overall, we had a great first trip to Sea World with our little man.  Our tickets are good until the end of the year so we might head back and check out the water park once it is open.

On the way home we were talking about how nice it sounded to go to the pool.  So we called Mom and made plans to meet up and have a little BBQ picnic.  Such a great way to start off Memorial Day Weekend!

By the time we made it home we were all exhausted, but glad we were able to do so many fun things that day.    More details on the rest of our weekend hopefully coming soon.
