"Around the Clock" Shower

Early Sunday morning we received a text from Cole's sister, Amy, to check our front door.  We were shocked to find breakfast and gifts laying on our doorstep.  Connor ran out saying "I found presents!  I found presents!"  After I snapped a few pictures we brought everything inside to see who had left these gifts.
Delicious breakfast complete with juice, milk, chocolate milk, coffee, donuts, and strawberries.
Inside we found a note that explained what was going to happen.  Cole's sister, Amy, and his Aunt Jeanne had organized an "Around the Clock" shower where we would be receiving gifts for Carson for every hour of the day.  They had contacted lots of our family and friends to help participate.  In the first box were gifts marked from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  We opened one gift before we left for church then saved the rest for later.
After church we headed to Pok-e-Jo's for some lunch and were given a few more gifts.
Connor and Carson both got new books and stuffed animals from Nana and Poppa.
Poppa, Connor, and Nana
Jeanne, Coleman, and Connor
Before we headed home Jeanne gave us another round of gifts for 1:00PM-6:00PM.  Can you find Connor? :)
It was so fun to start opening the gifts and see all the sweet things that people had given us.
Here is what we received for 7:00 AM- 6:00 PM.
Part of the shower was that all of our meals were taken care of for the day.  Jeanne and Coleman brought us dinner that evening.  King Ranch chicken, salad, bread, and apple pie... yum!
They also brought over the last of the gifts for 7:00 PM- 12:00 AM
Connor was one lucky little boy and found several gifts for him as well.  (I guess I should say "Super Bunny" found several gifts. :)  He loves a show called Max and Ruby where one of the characters is named Super Bunny and has a cape.  He finds blankets for me to tie around his neck and runs through the house yelling "SUPER BUNNY!")
We put Connor to bed and finished opening the rest.
Look at all of those cute things!
What a blessing!  Thank you so much to all who participated in this shower.  We were blown away by your kindness and greatly appreciate all the gifts for our family.  It was such a fun surprise to spend our day being loved on by family and friends.

Pumpkin Patch

If you are looking for a pumpkin patch, Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls is the place to go.  We had such a great time and it was fun to see how much more Connor enjoyed it this year.  As soon as we got close enough to the entrance he ran up to this pile saying "I love pumpkins!  I love pumpkins!"
He still is talking about the "pumpkin patch" and telling me "pumpkins too heavy."
Good thing Poppa was there to help!
He was not too crazy about sitting on all these pumpkins!
Probably one of our last pictures as a family of 3!

Checking out the goats
Sweet little scarecrow!
Connor has been carrying around his little pumpkins all week that his grandparents bought for him while we were there.  I'm impressed that they have lasted this long with all the drops and pretending that they are basketballs to throw in the goal. :)  Even with all the dents and bruises this little boy still loves his pumpkins!

Day Out With Thomas

This past Saturday we loaded up the car and headed to Burnet for a "Day Out With Thomas."  It is an event that comes to the Austin area about once a year and brings a life size Thomas the Train and passenger cars for the kids to ride on.  As soon as we heard about this I knew we had to get tickets.  I'm not sure if there is anyone who love Thomas more than Connor!  We had been telling him for awhile that we were going to go ride on Thomas, but he had no idea what he was in store for.  This was the priceless look on his face when he first saw Thomas. :)
"Wook Daddy... It's Thomas!"
Waiting to give the train conductor his ticket.
We had a great time and I'm sure we will be going back next year. We finished our day by stopping in Marble Falls for lunch at Bluebonnet Cafe and then a trip to the pumpkin patch.  More pictures coming soon!

Update on Carson

Good news!  I just got back from the doctor and Carson had turned.  We are now scheduled for an induction on the 18th.  (I am still prepared for Carson to surprise us again and that will be ok too!)

October is here!

We have finally made it to October!  I am so excited for many reasons, but the main one is that in about 2 weeks Carson will be here.  This morning Connor and I headed to MOPS.  We had another great day and Connor seemed to really enjoy being there again.  As we were leaving I reached down to grab his hand and he looked up at me and said "Mommy, I big boy.  I no hold hand."  He did however agree to it while crossing the street when I told him it wasn't an option.  Just one more reminder of how fast he is growing up!

Not only did I have a nice relaxing morning, but I can home to a great surprise from my sweet mom.  While we were gone she came over and cleaned my house!!!!  Did I mention that I have the greatest mom in the world?!

The teacher in me felt like we needed to do some pumpkin activities since it is starting to feel like fall and the pregnant side of me said "Let's make cookies!"  So Connor helped me bake some pumpkin shaped cookies this afternoon.
They were delicious!
While they were baking we got out the art supplies.  I quickly drew a pumpkin on a sheet of paper and got the finger paint all ready for Connor to start.  After showing him what to do he looked at me and politely asked for a paint brush.  He makes me laugh!  Even when I tell him its okay to make a mess, he still doesn't want to get his hands dirty.
When I asked him what I should write on his paper, his response was "I love pumpkins!"  (Which he repeated throughout the rest of the afternoon because he was having so much fun.)
I tried to get a video of him saying "I love pumpkins", but he decided that counting them was more fun.  You can also see that it gets hard to film a 2 year old so close when he wont sit still. :)
