Happy 1st Birthday Connor!

I am 12 months old!
There are so many new things that I can do now that I am 12 months, but here are a few of Mommy's favorite:
-So close to walking, taken 3 steps by himself
-Loves music and started singing some of his favorite songs (he quietly hums along... it is the cutest thing! I'll try to get a video of it one day)
-Getting a lot better at trying to repeat words that we say
-Uses our names ( "Dada" and "Mama") when he wants us
-Is very observant
-Starting to enjoy going to the nursery at church
-Very active and always wants to be on the go!

Connor had a great first birthday. I can't believe my baby is one! We celebrated on the 4th for his actual birthday and then had his party this past Saturday. We are still enjoying having friends and family in town to celebrate with us so it has taken me awhile to get these pictures up. Here are some pictures from his birthday. I will be sure to post some from his party later.

Connor had a special pancake breakfast to start his day off. I think he wishes everyday was his birthday!
After his morning nap we headed out to Lakeway to one of their city parks. Mimi came with us to join in on the fun. Connor really loves ducks right now so we thought it would be the perfect place to go. We brought a loaf of bread from Mimi's house, but every time I tried to get Connor to feed the ducks he fed himself! :) He thought the bread looked too good to give away!
It was a beautiful day to be outside.

That night for dinner Cole, Connor, and I met Mimi, Nana, and Poppa for some BBQ, cake, and fun! It was the perfect night to eat outside at the picnic tables and Connor was able to play in the big field near by.
Sweet birthday boy!
Connor was ready to eat some cake instead of taking more pictures! :)
Yum!
He got some fun new things from his grandparents.
Connor LOVES the happy birthday song! It became a quick new favorite!
Check back later for some pictures from the party!

Memorial Day Weekend

Part 1: 1st Trip to Midland

Friday night we left as soon as Cole got off work to spend the weekend in Midland with my cousin Kaci and her husband John.  We had been wanting to go see them for awhile and were glad it finally worked out.  Kaci had thought of everything and we felt like we were staying at a resort!  Connor loved getting to see his "Auntie Kaci" and of course was spoiled the whole weekend with fun surprises!  He especially loves his new lawn chair and bubble wand!

We went to lots of fun restaurants and had some yummy home cooked meals too!  I will have to post the recipe for the fruit crostatas Kaci made later.  It was too good not to share!

On Saturday they took us to the duck pond which Connor loved.  He started "chasing" the ducks all around and quacking at them.  It was too cute!

We also went to the Bush's former home when they lived in Midland for a little history.  Connor wanted to check out all the toys in George W.'s playroom.

Saturday night we went to a drive in movie and saw Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.  Cole and I loved the drive in and are going to have to find one close to us.  It was so much fun! (and yes we had to use blankets in May!)  Here we are waiting for the movie to start... you can see Connor's Mickey Mouse playing in the background.  He sat in the back most of the time with Kaci and I and loved it!

Kaci kept this little boy entertained all weekend!  He loved helping her in the kitchen while she made dinner.

He also had his first popsicle this weekend.  Kaci froze some of his apple juice to make one and he loved it!

Thank you Kaci and John for such a fun weekend!  We can't wait to see you again soon!

Part 2: Day at the Pool

Cole had Monday off from work so we took advantage of the beautiful day and headed to the pool.

Can you believe how much he has changed in 9 months?

Connor loved the water more than I thought he would.  I actually am now on the search for some sort of baby life jacket because he wants to be free in the water!  He wasn't to crazy about being held or sitting in his float.

I thought this expression on his face was too funny of him trying to figure out how he was going to get over to the fountain!

We didn't think he would like it, but after he wiped the water out of his face he would point at the fountain to go again.

He was way too busy to pose for any pictures.

Even though the water was kinda cold, Connor would lunge himself in it.  He wanted to get his whole body in it.

Walking all over the baby pool

Having so much fun!
