Lost Pines Weekend

We spent the last weekend in July with Cole's family at one of our favorite places, Hyatt Lost Pines Resort.  This was the fourth time that Cole and I had been, but was our first time to take Connor with us.  It was the perfect place to relax, hang out, and spend time with family.  There are so many different activities for all ages, but I think our favorite was the pool.

The kids loved the splash pad and the water slide!  We had to convince Connor that the lazy river was fun at first.  He thought running around in the shallow area was a lot more fun!

We took a walk down by the Colorado River one night and stopped for a little basketball and tether ball.

We also made sure to stop by the fire pit for S'mores.  Yum!  Connor had one bite and was done.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was watching Connor and Kate together.  The older they get the more they are starting to interact.  I am sure we will have lots more fun times ahead!

On our way out of town we stopped at Cartwright's for a BBQ lunch.

Great Weekend

We just got back from a long weekend spent with Cole's family at the Lost Pines Resort. It was so nice to get away and relax for a bit. I will have pictures up soon, but here is a quick video of Connor going down the water slide. Cole and I were shocked that he enjoyed this so much, but he absolutely loved it! He giggled the whole way down!

Now that he is 2...

It is still hard for me to believe that Connor is already 2!  Ever since he has started to sleep in his new bed he has seemed even older to me.  I have been extremely pleased with how easy that transition was.  After the first nap he has never tried to get out of his bed.  Every night I still tell him how proud I am of him and his little face just lights up.  He loves being a big boy!

2 Year Stats

Weight- 37 1/2 lbs

Height- 37 1/2 inches

• Connor is still constantly laughing (sometimes fake laughing) or being silly.  He loves for other people to laugh with him and will try to figure out new ways to make you laugh.

"Momma I smile... take picture!"

• Here are some of the funny/common things I have heard him say lately:

"Easy does it!"

"Yay!  Connor did it!"

"There... all better...(then wipes his hands off)"

"Chugga Chugga... Choo Choo" (or any other sound he thinks a train might make)

(While sitting at the dinner table we asked him 'Is Daddy your best friend?')  "Daddy my best friend in the whole world!"

He recently started on his own pretending to talk to fictional characters on the phone "Hellwo.... oh hi Max & Ruby!" (Max and Ruby are two bunnies from one of his favorite shows)

We have no idea where he comes up with all of this, but it is so fun to listen to his vocabulary expand.  

• He is also really into role playing.  He wants us to switch roles while we are playing and will recite word for word things I tell him.  It is so funny!
• Still LOVES Thomas the Train.  He spends the majority of his time playing with trains every day.  
• Right after he turned two we had a few weeks where he seemed to test every limit there was.  He is definitely still learning, but I think he is finally starting to understand that his life is a lot easier when he does what Momma and Daddy ask him to do. :)  
• Still will eat almost anything and has switched to 2% milk.  He loves PB& J and usually starts asking for one around lunch time.

• Decided he was too big for the high chair and officially uses a booster seat now.  One day at lunch he told me "Momma, no high chair.  I big boy.  I sit riiiiiight here." and that was the end of his high chair days.
• Connor also loves to sing songs and "read" books.  He has several songs and books mostly memorized that he enjoys sharing with us.  Some of you may have seen this video already, but I wanted to make sure I had it on my blog as well.  I am still working on getting him to read one of his favorite books on video, but those of you with toddlers know it is almost impossible to make them do something on video! :)

I promise to put up more pictures (and less words) soon, but these are some fun milestones that I did not want to forget. :)

Swimming with Nana

On Friday, Nana took us over to a friend's house for a fun day of swimming.  We had lots of fun playing with his pool toys and splashing around.  I am so thankful that he is pretty cautious even in the pool.  It makes it a lot easier to take him swimming!  We ended the morning with a picnic lunch that Nana had brought for us.  We all had such a great time and can't wait to go swimming again soon!       

Sea World

On Wednesday Mimi, Connor, and I headed down to San Antonio for a day of fun at Sea World.  I was excited to take Connor again and also check out the water park. 

After a quick bite to eat, we headed to the Shamu show.  We all really enjoyed it!  There was even a baby that followed its momma during the whole show.  It was so cute!

Once we left the show we headed to the water park.  Our first stop was the lazy river.  As soon as we had the life jacket buckled, Connor bolted for the water.  You can see he was less than thrilled that I made him stop for a picture. :)

We also made it by Shamu's Beach Party show which was perfect entertainment for young kids.

The toddler swimming area was our next place to visit.  I think Connor was just happy to have a little freedom and run around for a bit.  We all decided that the water park is a must while visiting Sea World.  It is a nice and much needed break from the heat!

Before we left we made it over to the dolphins.  This is one of Connor's favorite animals at Sea World.  He kept telling me "Momma, dolphin so big...so bootiful (beautiful).... dolphin so nice."

It was a great day and I was so glad that my mom wanted to go with us!
