Interview with Connor

I have seen lots of people doing similar interviews on other blogs and decided it would be fun to do one with Connor.  I started to just ask and record the answers, but thought it would be more fun to have on video.  Enjoy!

Harris Family Reunion 2011

Twenty years ago my mom's family started getting together in the summers.  The tradition carried on for several years. Then with a combination of graduations, weddings, and new babies it started getting harder to find a good date for everyone.  Well, this year Kaci called me and said the two of us were going to plan the event for the summer.  We had so much fun getting all the details worked out and planning the reunion that we had always loved going to as kids.  Everything seemed to fall in place perfectly.
John, Kaci, and William all headed to town on Thursday so we could go out to the lake early and get things set up.
Carson and William are only five months apart.  I imagine these two are going to have lots of fun times together just like their mommas did. :)
Rachel and Owen had come to town on Wednesday so we all enjoyed getting some one-on-one with Owen before the big group arrived.
Connor was out buying a fishing pole, but we managed to get three of the boys together.  I think Carson and Owen are about to fall asleep sitting up.
Friday morning we headed to Marble Falls for lunch at Bluebonnet before we checked in at the lake.  We had a great recommendation for some houses to rent off of Lake LBJ.  The houses were AMAZING!!  They had every thing we could want and more!
We rented these two right next to each other so we had plenty of room for everyone.
Kristin, Callie, Kaci, and Courtney
William loved swimming in the pool.
Connor preferred to practice his cast on his new fishing pole.
We all had a great time visiting and hanging out at the house.

We also rented a boat on Saturday for everyone to get some time on the lake.
We couldn't miss the opportunity to take some family pictures as well.  Let's just say taking pictures is always an adventure, especially with a 3 year old, 14 month old, 9 month old, and 3 month old.
On Saturday night we broke out the Wii and everyone played Let's Dance 2. Aunt Susan was our champion, but I think Papa and Ginny stole the prize.  I decided to be nice and leave the dancing pictures off the blog. :)
We literally did not want to leave when Sunday rolled around, but all good things must come to an end.  We are so thankful for such a wonderful family and the time that we had to spend together!

Longview

This past weekend we drove up to Longview for a relaxing weekend of hanging out with Cole's parents, sister, and her family.  Amy and David were the perfect hosts and we really enjoyed our weekend away.

We got in late on Friday night we we had a short visit before it was time for bed.  Connor was excited to see Kate the next morning.  I love how they are sitting the exact same way in this photo.  These two love their milk!
Kate and Connor played like brother and sister.  They could be so sweet to each other and the next minute know exactly what button to push.  I think they are going to have lots of fun years together!
We spent most of Saturday pool side.  David's parents were sweet to let us use their pool.
Carson is our water baby who loves playing and splashing in the water.
Connor continues to be our cautious child and preferred to stay in the shallow area.  That did not stop him from having fun!  I think with a few more trips to the pool he will start to get comfortable with swimming in the deeper end.
The rest of our time was spent hanging out and playing.  I can't believe how much these two are growing up!
Little Miss Hannah was all over the place and Carson did his best to try and keep up.
The boys loved being able to spend lots of time with Nana and Poppa too.
One of the highlights for Connor was on Sunday when David let the kids play his drums.  Connor had been eyeing them all weekend and was thrilled when David let them have a turn.  He only wanted one stick and wanted David to use the other one.  "Let's make music!"
 So sweet!
It was a great weekend!  Did I mention that Amy also made us a delicious coffee cake, PW cinnamon rolls, and homemade hamburger buns?!  Yum!  Thank you Amy and David for having us.  We all had a great time and can't wait to see you again.

Happy 9 Months Carson!

Now that you are 9 months you are starting to express yourself a lot more.  Sometimes you can be so serious.
Then the next second you are squealing with delight!
Playing peek-a-boo is a new favorite.  You use whatever you can to hide your face then give a big grin whenever we "find" you.
You have had a few bites of table food, but you mainly eat baby food and cereal.
Busy is one of the best words to describe you at this age.  You are always on the move or bouncing up and down.  The army crawl is getting faster by the day.
Your 3rd tooth is making its way through on the bottom which has brought lots of drool and chewing on fingers.
You have started giving this smile where you scrunch up your nose.  Too cute!
Here are a few others things you are doing:
-Wearing size 18 -24 month clothing.
-We go to the doctor Thursday to find out how much you weigh and height.  I'll be back with the update.
-Started holding your own bottle.  What's funny is that you are not as interested in drinking it when you are in control.
-Love bath time and splashing with your big brother.
-Still such a GREAT sleeper!  You amaze me with your sleeping abilities.  Let's just say I have 2 children that are polar opposites in this department.  You still take at least 3 good naps a day.  At night you usually sleep from 7:00pm-8:00am
-Not a big fan of sleeping in the car which leads to not so fun trips when you get tired.  You love to sleep on your stomach.
-You have become a "Momma's boy" which I love because I know it might not last forever.

Happy 9 months sweet boy!
