Thanksgiving 2011

This year we headed to Texarkana to celebrate Thanksgiving.  The boys did great on the long car trip!  Carson is not always a fan of being strapped in when he gets sleepy, but snacks and movies seemed to get us through.  Taking the back roads landed us in Longview so we even got to make a quick stop to see Amy, David, Kate, Hannah, Nana, and Poppa.  The boys were happy to be out of the car for a minute and play with their cousins.
I have an overload of photos for you from our trip.  Here are a few new favorites of the boys...
Momma Lou and Ed had everyone over for Thanksgiving lunch.  The food and desserts were delicious!  It was so nice to see all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins too.  We were only missing a few.
The weather was perfect for an afternoon walk.
Thursday night Courtney, Kaci, and I hit the stores for a little Black Friday shopping watching.  None of us bought a single thing, but let me just say that is was definitely an experience.  We went to Walmart at 10 and Target at midnight and I don't think I have ever seen so many people acting so crazy.  That was probably my first and last time to do that. :)
On Friday we headed to Papa and Ginny's for dinner with the family.  It was so much fun to get to hang out and visit some more.

Papa with 2 (out of 4) of his favorite great-grandsons! :)

We all enjoyed getting to spend time with family and are very thankful for all the precious people that God has put in our lives.

Christmas Time at Sea World

Mimi, the boys, and I decided to take advantage of our season passes and make one last trip to Sea World for the year.  Going right before Thanksgiving was the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit.  Thankfully the rain held off and we had great weather for a day of fun!
 Silly boy!
Our first stop was to pick up a map.  Connor loves reading the map and directs us the entire time.
All of the shows were SO fun!  It was definitely worth the trip down to San Antonio.

MOPS Fall Party

Guess who decided they loved petting zoos?
During one of our MOPS events the kids had a chance to enjoy a petting zoo, treasure hunt, games, and crafts.  It actually was the same zoo that came to Connor's 2nd birthday party.
It took him a little while to warm up, but once he started feeding them he LOVED it!  He was trying to pick up all the small animals too.  That is huge for Connor!  After I saw him try to pick up a bunny by its ears we decided to go wash up and do a few crafts.  :)  This boy surprises me every day!

Happy 13 Months, Carson!

Taking pictures of Carson is getting harder by the day.  After about 30 blurry photos and trying to keep Carson still we finally got one good shot and called it a day!  Here are just a few of the things Carson has been up to:

Busy is the best word to describe Carson at this age.  He is an explorer and gets into EVERYTHING! :)  Right now he loves to empty out cabinets, baskets, book shelves... really just whatever he can reach.
He is now able to stand by himself without holding on to anything.  He can walk behind a push toy or holding our hands, but not unassisted. With his laid back personality I think he is just content with crawling (and so am I!) :)

He still loves looking at books and being read to.
He may be quiet in large groups, but give him a few moments of silence and he will not stop talking!  He makes lots of noises and tries to say a few new words.  He can say Dada, Bye Bye, Hi, Mama, Mimi, and Bible.  Carson also attempts to repeat all the animal sounds when we read his farm book.

Loves his brother and wants to be right there with him.  I am learning that 2 boys can show affection in totally different ways than girls do.  I often find these two "wrestling" on the floor just belly laughing.  Boys are so much fun!

Starting to have a little more of an opinion about what he eats.

Loves to snuggle! :)

...and the list goes on!  We love you, Carson!
