Christmas Pageant 2012

One of the most precious moments this Christmas season was seeing Connor's school put on their annual Christmas pageant.  There is nothing sweeter than a bunch of preschoolers singing Christmas songs.  Connor had all the songs and hand motions down and was so excited to perform for us.
After the program they had a little party for all the students and families.  Connor was thrilled to have Nana and Mimi there to watch him and celebrate with us afterwards.

The cake and punch made all that practice worth it! :)

Christmas Fun: Round 2

If you are on pinterest I am sure by now you have seen the millions of Christmas tradition ideas floating around.  Here is one that I saw that I thought would be perfect for the boys.  After dinner one night, Mimi suggested we go look at Christmas lights and literally in 10 minutes we threw together a little surprise from Max the elf.  While the boys were upstairs playing we left some Christmas pjs, "Christmas Lights Express" tickets, and a bag of popcorn under the tree.
I'm not sure if they totally understood what Max was up to when they saw it, but as soon as I told them to put on their pjs for a trip to see lights they were ready to go!  We drove around a nearby neighborhood and found so many fun Christmas decorations.  The boys had a blast!
We also celebrated Christmas with Grandmommy and all of Cole's family this past week.  It was great to see everyone.  C & C loved opening presents and getting to play outside with cousins.

Connor and Carson made their first trip to the Trail of Lights.  Despite the huge crowd it was such a fun night.  I'm pretty sure the highlight for Connor was getting to ride the school bus from the mall to Zilker park.  He has been dreaming about getting on a school bus for a long time. :)
HEB gave the boys several free books and the reindeer antlers Connor is sporting in the background.
Even with all the excitement going on this month some of my favorite times are just those every day moments like watching these two read books together.  I am blessed and thankful to get to be their Mommy.

Christmas Fun

Christmas fun and traditions are in full swing over here.  Last year I had every thing planned out perfectly, but this year I decided to have a more "go with the flow" approach.  The boys and I sat down after Thanksgiving and made a list of the things we would like to do this month.  Here are a few of the things we have done so far:

Max our elf came back from the North Pole and brought a special breakfast.
The boys loved all the "snow balls" that Max brought them.
We made a trip to see Santa.  Carson insisted that I join them.
Took a few rides on the train at the mall.
Helped Mimi decorate her Christmas tree at the house.
Helped Nana and Poppa decorate their tree too!
Family move night with our Christmas favorites.
 Decorated our gingerbread house

Date night at the Driskill for dinner then headed to the capital to see some lights.

Took a trip to Sea World with the Ela family.  Carson rode his first roller coaster in the kid park and loved it.  Connor played it safe on the carousel.
The boys loved getting to share a fun day with Hudson and Harper.
Lots of fun memories made!

Johnson City Christmas Lights 2012

The weekend after Thanksgiving we all made a trip down to Johnson City to see the lights.  This is something we do every year, but it was extra special this year since the Mitchell girls were able to join us.  Connor and Kate had SO much fun together.
All the kids loved running and playing under the amazing lights that covered all the trees.
After watching a new Disney show, Connor is really into being a "prince" and "dancing the waltz" so he told Kate she was his princess and they needed to dance. So cute!
Carson and Hannah joined in on the fun!
 Big hugs for Poppa!
 Mimi and her boys
Nana and her 3 youngest grands.
Posing with Nana while checking out Santa nearby.
My boys are very blessed to have so many special grandparents.
 How cute are these two?
 Cousins are so much fun!
After we checked out the trees we headed over to the town square where they head some more decorations.
It was a fun night for all of us!

Thanksgiving

For weeks now Connor has been talking about Thanksgiving.  He has been so excited and would check the calendar daily to see if it was the 22nd.  At school they learned a lot about the first Thanksgiving.  I picked him up one day from school and found him dressed up as a Native American.  He named himself "Chasing Cat."
The much anticipated Thanksgiving Day finally arrived and we celebrated with turkey pancakes.
We meet up with Cole's family later that morning for the Turkey Trot.
My sweet little turkeys getting ready for our big Thanksgiving dinner.
It was a fun evening with lots of family and great food.
