Connor's second season of soccer has come to an end. He had a great time playing this year and it was amazing to see all the improvements from where he started. Connor always loved going to practice and games, but sometimes I think it he enjoyed being with friends more than actually playing. It seemed like he never really got in to it until this last game when we all discovered something new about this sweet boy. He loves defense! He may not have been a high scorer during the games, but you put him on defense and he thrived! On his own he decided he wanted to be the goalie and blocked almost every kick from the other team. (Too bad his age group isn't suppose to have a goalie or we could of been rocking it all year!) :)
He told me that he was done with soccer and ready to move on to golf or t-ball. I told him it may be a little hard to find a 4 year old golf team, but I think t-ball is a definite possibility.
After the game we had an end of season party complete with cookie cake and trophies. I'm pretty sure Connor would do anything that involved a trophy.
It was an extra special season having Cole as the assistant coach. Connor is one lucky little boy!
For now we are going to enjoy our Saturdays off and maybe next year give another sport a try.
