It worked out where Connor had a camp to go to each month this summer. In June he headed back to his preschool for a cooking camp.
He came home each day sharing about what they had made that day and usually had some tasty treats for us to try. Over the course of the week they made cornbread, smoothies, pigs in a blanket, muffins, pizza, fresh lemonade and cupcakes. He learned a lot about the ingredients it takes to make different foods and drinks. Cooking may not be his passion, but he still likes to help me in the kitchen every now and then.
In July, we had VBS out at our church campus in Dripping Springs. I was teaching this year so Carson got to come too.
Being at a smaller campus provided lots of opportunities for me to see the boys throughout the day. They both had a blast!
On Thursday evening all the kids put on a program for the parents. They sang all the songs that they had learned that week. We are thankfully for all the teachers who worked so hard to make it such a wonderful week.
The last camp of the summer was Kinder Kamp. It was held at Connor's new elementary school. The purpose was to provided an opportunity for the incoming students to get comfortable with the campus and see what Kindergarten is all about. Connor had lot of friends he knew there and made some new friends too!
We ended the week with lunch at McDonald's with some friends. Nana, Kate, Hannah, and Natalie were there too. It was a great end to a fun week!
I can't believe summer has slipped away and we are only 2 days away from school starting!
