On the Go!

We just got back from a great trip to New Mexico with Cole's family.  We all had tons of fun, but are glad to be home.  Connor was especially excited last night to sleep in his own bed!  This morning when he woke up he barely finished his bottle because he wanted to get down and play with all his toys.  The past few weeks he had started really working hard on moving forward.  I grabbed the camera this morning to show you Connor's own version of the army crawl.  I think we are getting really close to being all over the house!

Valentine's Weekend

This past weekend Cole and I went on a couples retreat to a bed and breakfast in Comfort, Texas.  We went with our growth group from church and had a great time.  It was nice to get away from the busyness of everything and just spend the weekend relaxing.  We were sad to leave Connor again, but he had tons of fun at Mimi's house.

During the day on Friday Connor decided he would help me pack.  He thought it was so fun to sit in the suitcase while I loaded it up!  With that smile it was hard not to just take him with me! :)  

We stayed at the Haven River Inn which is located in Comfort (about 20 miles outside of Fredricksburg).

The Haven catered almost all of our meals, including a special Valentine's dinner.  The food was great!

On Saturday the girls drove into Fredricksburg to do a little shopping on Main Street.  We had lunch at one of my favorite places, Rather Sweet.  It was delicious, like always, and we all had a great time visiting.

While we went shopping, the boys headed over to a near by golf course and spent the day golfing.  Once they got back Cole and I grabbed our fishing rods and headed down to the Guadalupe River to fish.  I love to fish, but hardly ever get to go.  It was so much fun!

We had a great time fishing even though we didn't catch anything.  I think it might have been too cold! :)

On Sunday morning we made our way back to Austin and headed over to my mom's to pick up Connor.  Since we missed Valentine's Day with him we celebrated when we got there.  Here is a picture my mom sent us on Saturday.

Connor had a great time at his Mimi's house and has especially loved his new bouncy horse!  I will have to post a video later for you to see how much he loves it.  So thank you Mimi for taking such good care of Connor while we were gone!

I have a new tooth coming in on the top too!

I couldn't make a decision tonight about which picture to put up so I decided to put 3 up instead. :)  This has been another fun month full of lots of new things. 

What I can do know that I am 8 months:

-Love my sippy cup

-Eat some finger foods

-Not crawling, but can go backwards or reach really hard until I get what I want

-Slide around on the wood floor

-Go for rides in my wagon or car

-Love it when Daddy flies me through the air

-Working on my 3rd tooth

-Express my emotions if Mommy decides that I shouldn't play with the remote or phone

-Give lots of kisses

-Stick my feet out of the crib when I sleep

-Laugh and play when they put me to bed until I fall asleep  

Last, but not least.... I love to clap!!

(Sorry, I was so late with this months update, but I was sick all last week.  Connor has a little cold too, but we are all starting to feel a lot better thank goodness!  Thanks to my wonderful mom and Cole we made it through "Mommy" having the flu.)

Florida

This past weekend we finally went on our long anticipated trip to Jacksonville, Florida to see the Kelley family. (For those of you who don't know the Kelleys... they are some of our best friends that use to live right down the street from us) We have missed them so much since they moved so it was nice to spend some time with them and see their sweet new baby girl! We always have so much fun with them and usually spend the whole time laughing!

On Saturday we took a trip to St. Augustine. It was such a neat little town and we even got a chance to go to the beach. It was obviously way too cold to get in, but what would a trip to Florida be without seeing the beach! :)

After lunch on Sunday we headed to the airport. Excited to get home to Connor, but sad we had to leave our friends after an amazing weekend. We are so thankful for Phillip and Fran and their two precious little girls! Finally back in Austin we couldn't wait to see Connor! We brought him back his own Florida gator, but I think he was definitely more interested in the tag! Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and we can't wait to see them all again in June! :)
