I finally found a few minutes to go through the pictures from the hospital. There are hundreds so it was hard to pick just a few to share. I wrote down lots of details from the events of our day so unless you have lots of free time feel free to just scroll through the pictures. :)
Sunday night Cole and I dropped Connor off at my mom's house and made our way up north to check in to the hospital. I was scheduled to be induced at 5:00 AM on Monday morning. Dr. Peveto wanted us to come in the night before so he could start giving me Cervidil and monitor the baby and I. When we got there we found out that I had already progressed enough so they decided to hold off on giving me anything and wait until the next morning. So Cole and I got to sleep on those "comfy" beds for another night just for fun! :)
Surprisingly we both were able to sleep until 4:00AM when the nurses started coming in. It really was a pretty relaxing morning. We had family in and out and were even able to take a few short naps. Everything went slow for the first part of the morning, but around 1:30 things started picking up and by 2:23PM Carson Michael was here.
I can't even begin to describe the love that floods your heart when you first lay eyes on your precious new baby. It is in moments like these that I catch a glimpse of how much God truly loves us.
After the nurses did an initial check of Carson in the room they took him back to the nursery for awhile. Cole was so sweet and sent me lots of pictures and texts to keep me updated on what was going on.
We had lots of family who patiently waited for Carson to arrive.
Everyone got to watch Carson get his first bath.
Connor was checking everything out
I had a few complications that caused me to end up back in Labor and Delivery so it was over 4 hours until we were all reunited. Cole was so sweet and did an amazing job of taking care of all of us. He made lots of trips back and forth between my room and the nursery.
Once we got settled in our new room it was finally time for Connor to meet his new brother. When he first walked in he was very confused about why I was in a bed with wires all over me. He didn't even pay much attention to Carson, but quickly warmed up to him by the end of the visit. He seemed a lot more relaxed once we got out his new Thomas coloring book. :) It was definitely a lot for him to take in.
Now everyone was finally able to come and meet the new addition to our family.
