So Proud!

Well, today is the day!  After finishing up his new room, we said goodbye to the crib and hello to his new "big boy bed!"

Here he is taking one of his last naps in his crib.
I went in to this with little expectations and clueless about how the whole process was going to go.  The past few days I have really been talking it up and he even started sleeping with his new pillow.  Connor was so excited about his new bed.  Before his nap we went into the nursery and waved goodbye to his "baby bed" and headed over to his new room.  We stuck with the same nap routine of reading 2 books before he had to lay down.  After a kiss and a hug I left and quickly grabbed the video monitor to watch what was going on.  He laid motionless for about 5 minutes.  I think he was just trying to figure it all out.  Then for the next 20 minutes he managed to get out of bed 4 times and come open the door twice.  After a few "talks" he was well aware that he could not get off his bed and rolled around for about another 20 minutes and then was out!
I was amazed that his first nap went so smoothly.  This just makes him seem even more grown up to me!

I guess we will see how tonight goes.  I'll keep you updated and will post pictures of his finished room soon.

***Update*** We put Connor to bed at 8:00 and after some tossing and turning he was asleep by 8:30... never crying or getting up once!!!
